Terrible. I'm not sure how old his son Jason was. Randy is 65, so I'm guessing his son was probably 25-40.
It appears Jason got a vaccine at Walgreens, then either passed out or had a heart attack while driving home, slammed into a tree, and was either killed from the accident or from the medical condition which knocked him out (or a combo of both).
It is known that the vaccine can cause shock within the first 15 minutes, which is why you aren't supposed to leave until 15 minutes have passed since the shot. It's not clear how long Jason waited before driving home -- only that the accident occurred 25 minutes after the vaccine.
Very sad story. This is why I don't recommend the vaccine for anyone besides old people at this point.
On the flip side, a longtime family friend, who is 85 and unvaxxed, just got COVID a few days ago, and is now hospitalized.
I've known this guy since I was a little kid.
Bottom line is old people need to watch out and get the vaccine, while everyone else shouldn't sweat COVID anymore. My parents get the vax, and also avoid risky spaces like crowded buses. Otherwise they live life normally. I think that's the right approach at their age.
At this point I treat COVID like it's the flu, because that's basically what it is for my age group now.
