I'm on the Trump mailing list, and sometimes post the ridiculous e-mails I get here.
The emails are supposedly written by Trump, but in reality it's by some campaign ghostwriter who doesn't even do a very good job imitating him.
The e-mails are also very gimmicky (even by Trump standards), and have contained scammy promises such as "quadruple matching" of donation dollars if the recipient donates by a certain deadline.
Now it's been found that the promised "Dinners With Trump" being given away to donors likely never took place, and that was also likely a scam.
What a mess.
I don't even believe that Trump knows about any of this stuff. He likely has some shady idiot running his campaign who makes these dumb promises, assuming nobody will follow up and check on it.
Not that Trump would even care much if he found out about all this, provided the fundraising numbers are good (which last I checked, they are.)
But this is just so stupid. Why even open Trump to such criticism? I guess they figure there are so many negative stories about him already, this relatively minor one will get drowned out.
