this is why i’m voting trump
Real answers to debate's "greatest misconception about you" question:
Biden: I'm mentally competent.
Warren: I'm Native American.
Buttigieg: I'm sincere.
Bloomberg: I respect women.
Klobuchar: I treat staffers with respect.
Steyer: I matter.
Sanders: I support capitalism.
white people like this are simply the NUT LOW:

my super liberal boomer socal parents are hoping bloomberg gets the nod.
with all due respect to your lovely parents, they’re retarded.
So sonatine is actually to the right of his parents?
Didn't see that one coming.
But actually despite what we saw on Family Ties, the biggest political influence on people tends to be their parents, especially if the kid ends up getting along with his/her parents in their teen/adult years.
Anyone have a link to the debate replay? I just got home and missed it. Been avoiding spoilers
Edit: Got it, thank you
as a committed cryptobuddhist i adhere to the spiritual principles of eliminating suffering on earth and implementing Total Paradise immediately and unilaterally.
but i also believe in disavowing whatever policies, left or right, that stand in the way of those goals.
as it happens, there are far fewer of those policies on the left. but they are still there. my parents are more tolerant of them than i.
Hate to say I missed it - how did it go
They should all fight each other at the next WWE Battle Royale.
Warren would beat the crap out of Bloomberg.
Amy Klobuchar would give a wedgie to Pete Buttigieg.
Joe Biden would fall asleep.
Bernie Sanders is your default winner and last man standing.

But here’s the thing, no one watched. I didn’t. I couldn’t bear it. Thus, no minds were changed tonight.
DNC & CBS should be savaged.
A moderator driven train wreck of an undisciplined free for all. Bloomberg paid about 200 audience members to heckle.
Just scan thread to,witness that there was no conversation here, on PFA, either.
Intolerable. DNC squandered 2 prime time hours before Super Tuesday.
One word to sum it up would be "chaotic". The moderators were very loose, and barely attempted to moderate. They'd just let whoever talk and for however long they liked until somebody else cut in. Probably the worst moderated debate from a technical standpoint, but it led to one of the more fun debates to watch. At certain points there'd literally be 7 people all talking at the same time. Pete was especially bad about this trying to act like every question was for him. Very obnoxious.
Biden did well. I think he has to be the winner of this debate, but of course we're grading on a curve. Don't think he can lose SC after this debate, and he'll likely get some good "comeback" press and endorsements. Bloomberg did less terrible than last time. Still bad, but an improvement. What was really interesting was the audience was very biased towards the moderate candidates, especially Biden (and Bloomberg). Sanders was literally getting booed when he talked and Biden was practically getting standing ovations. I thought Sanders had an okay/meh debate, but the crowd made it look like he was getting crushed. Home field advantage is a thing, and I don't think Sanders looked particularly good tonight, especially with all the fire he took. Last week all the heat was directed at Bloomberg. This week, it was all directed at Sanders (with Warren still on Bloomberg).
Biden belt is growing

BTW LOL @ Warren bringing up that phony "I got fired from teaching because I was pregnant" story.
That has already been debunked as a lie. In fact, it's 100% certain that Warren blatantly lied about it because she told one version in 2007 (that she left because her husband wanted her to quit, and because she needed certificates which were a pain in the ass to obtain) and another version from 2014 going forward (that she got fired for being pregnant).
Obviously one of those two versions is a complete lie. Warren has never explained whether she was lying in 2007 or lying more recently, but one of the stories had to be a complete lie, and the more sensational one casting her as a victim is MUCH more likely to be the lie.
Now she's trotting it back out in the debates. Unbelievable. She should at least invent some new lies instead of recycling old ones.
Also, the shouting over each other during this debate is AIDS, and the whole thing is mostly unwatchable. I only had time to see bits and pieces when it was live, so now I'm trying to watch it, and I find the entire thing to be grating and stressful.
Trump must be laughing his ass off at all of this. The Democrats keep looking sillier and sillier with each passing day, to where his own silliness no longer looks all that unappealing.
shout out to Bernie for talking about the CIA and its coups in Central/South America.
Btw, if you're wondering why Biden attacked Steyer in the debate, here's why:

Biden now over 80% on Predictit for SC, MS, and AL.
And he's over 50% in 10 states in the southeastern US.
The problem is that he's looking horrible everywhere else.
Bernie might snatch defeat from the jaws of victory if he keeps up with this nonsense of praising communist dictators.
Otherwise it's going to be really hard to breach the super strong support he's build west of the Mississippi.
He's still going to get clobbered against Trump though.
there was no reason for him to give castro credit for anything. we tend not to do that for dictators. your example re hitler is a good one. why would anyone give hitler credit for anything?
the biggest reason this is an issue for bernie, besides he'll lose florida, is that republicans already call democrats socialists and even communists. when you have the democrat nominee for president praising communist dictators, it only makes those attacks more legitimate
It's not bad faith.
Instead of criticizing Castro and badmouthing his regime, he actually tried to make a case for why he wasn't "all bad". Come on.
The truth is that Bernie is such a lover of communism that he can't even bring himself to bash brutal communist dictatorships where people were tortured and killed. In reality he believed in a lot of what they were doing, minus the violence. So he's afraid if he criticizes someone like Castro, it's like throwing his own ideology out the window. Instead, he is defending communist policies and weakly criticizing the violence and oppression.
If you can't simply get up and say, "Castro was a bad man and I completely condemn his regime, even though I love the Cuban culture and people", then you have no business running for President of the US.
The type of stuff going on in Cuba under Castro should disqualify anything "good" which occurred at the same time.
The fact that Bernie is actually trying to find good in evil dictatorial regimes speaks volumes. The sad truth is that he admires Castro and others like him.
As I said, he's a communist.
Anyway, I'm actually happy that Bernie lacks the ability to shapeshift Mayor Pete style, and take on politically expedient positions.
Bernie hates directly lying. He knows what he is, and while he knows that admitting to some of it will kill his electability, he tends to just avoid answering those questions directly. Occasionally he will let his insane beliefs slip out.
The fact that a plurality of Democrats are supporting this career-do-nothing, idealogue communist as their Presidential candidate is just shocking to me. But hey, I'm thrilled to see this, versus someone like Obama or Bill Clinton who knew exactly what to say to get elected.
In 2010, Republicans threw away five Senate seats they could have easily won by nominating insane/awful candidates who were just the farthest right.
At the time I lamented the party's obsession with constantly trying to out-right itself, and the growing belief that farther right meant better in all cases.
The Democrats are now making the same mistake. A lot of this has become a self-perpetuating problem, as the far left has been much more vocal, and therefore the moderate Democrats have become increasingly afraid to call out the insanity from the extremes in the party. This normalized the crazy left thought and policy, and now we have Bernie Sanders as the frontrunner.
This is an absolute killer in general elections. The far left is insisting, "We need a revolution now because..." and isn't understanding that most Americans don't want a revolution, nor do they think current life under Trump is terrible.
The way to beat Trump is to nominate a charismatic, sensible candidate who seems reasonable and practical. Instead, they're nominating a 79-year-old communist who wants to upend everything America is about.
Amazing.
Donald Trump is President
Bernie Sanders is the front runner
Solid take Druff
Also curious who the reasonable charismatic Democratic candidate is in your world?
I think you’re just projecting your own politics and that’s fine but the political analysis has always been wanting. More empathy and less projection.
You had zero read in 2016 on Trump. I think that’s fair to say.
Trump is brash and a nonstandard President, but he didn't create a revolution, nor did he promise one. He was more promising a halt to leftward policies starting to overtake the country.
As I mentioned earlier, if you dropped someone from January 2017 into February 2020, life wouldn't be much different. That person's only two concerns would be that there's a coronavirus scare and Kobe Bryant is dead.
