The story of how being vaccinated gave me heart problems... or maybe not?
Alright so please understand that I troll a lot on here and sometimes it can get confusing where I really stand on things. Always considered myself a socially left libertarian pretty much. I'm pro vax and mask but anti lockdown. I'm also not a fan of mandatory vax. And I really don't care whether you choose to be vaxxed or not.
Anyways...
Lead up
Last December I had a significant cold. Nothing major, with my child in daycare she constantly brings home things all the time. And no she isn't vaccinated. I'm not antivax but I've always been clear on here kids have like no risk outside of passing it on to those who do. I felt kinda iffy about it and decided to hold off given how mild covid is even more so now. After recovering from the cold around new years I started to get these electrical shocks on the left side of my chest. I'm a bit of a hypocondriac so it really freaked me out. The shocks would last less than a second and get about a few dozen of them in an hour then nothing for 5 hours. It didn't seem to be connected to any sort of activity. After about a week of experiencing this numerous times a day I decided to get it checked out.
The shitty healthcare system of Canada and its worse than you think
Believe it or not even conservatives in Canada are in favor of socialized medicine. That doesn't change the fact that nearly everyone agrees healthcare is shitty. Mainly because wait times and staff shortages. This has gotten much worse since COVID started. Unless you've had to use healthcare services you wont realize how bad its gotten. They've reduced staff in hospitals and its standard to go to emerge and wait 8 plus hours (they do triage you in 30 mins). Additionally numerous walk in clinics have closed which sends even more people to emergency. Walks in clinics exist for those who don't have family doctors and that number is growing every day. And yes I'm one of those who don;t have a family doctor (a huge issue in Canada). It also means if you have a shitty doctor you are stuck with them.
How bad is it? Well just read this article about chaos breaking out when word got out a new clinic was taking patients. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ottaw...mand-1.6733925
So I had three choices, go to walk in clinic, head to hospital, or do nothing. Doing nothing wasn't much of an option as I was travelling soon and now that I have a kid I actually give a shit if I die. Going to walk in clinic would likely result in a 3-4 hour wait (did I mention you often have to line up for an hour hoping to get an appointment outside before they open?). Plus it was almost certain the walkin clinic couldn't do anything and would simply refer me or direct me to hospital if really concerned. So hospital it was.
To be continued....
Interesting story so far, and I hope this resolves itself somehow. I'll have to read the rest of it before I give an opinion regarding your maybe-heart-problems. Not that my opinion matters that much anyway, because I'm not a doctor.
But thank you for being honest about the shittiness of the Canadian healthcare system. Same shit is going on in the UK with their NHS. People love their socialized medicine until they really need it, and it's not there for them. Or they develop some form of weird Stockholm Syndrome and learn to love it, because they've gotten used to it.
Americans will be in for a huge shock if they have to wait hours at clinics, can't see specialists for 6+ months, and get turned down for important tests and procedures.
I've read tons of horror stories from socialized medicine nations where people suspect cancer, can't get looked at for 6+ months, and the whole thing advances by then and becomes inoperable.
Fuck that shit. Our system here has a lot of sucky things about it, but the ability to see specialists quickly and take tests easily is huge.
It seems this RFK Jr. is a bright guy and someone who we should listen to and hear what he has to say. I'm sure I have disagreements if I knew more about him but he is clearly not electable because of his voice. The president has to literally have a strong voice. He's a low talker.
I'm also not a fan of mandatory vax. And I really don't care whether you choose to be vaxxed or not.
Good luck then, genuinely.
I'm pro vax and mask
It's not a vaccine. It's gene transfection. Masks, LOL.
There's a price to pay for being retarded sometimes

Part 2 the hospital
As mentioned I wasn't looking forward to waiting in emerge and I was far from the only one.
A week prior to my chest pains a local 40 some man had just finished watching the world juniors (hockey) in when he started to get intense shooting pains in his chest. His wife reported he was initially hesitant to go to emergency as he had read about the 16 hour wait times over the holidays. As symptoms increased over the next 20 mins he had his wife race him to the hospital. But it was too late he died at registration. Stories like that made me worry but I also knew what I was experiencing was almost certainly not a heart attack. Still it had persisted for over a week and with an upcoming trip I wanted to get this looked at.
So with little else to consider I made my way to the emergency Saturday at noon. Expecting a bit of a wait I brought along my phone, my newest stephen king novel, and persona 5 for Nintendo switch. My gf dropped me off and I made my way inside to to some sort of intake worker all alone at a front desk. He was likely no older than mid 20s and didn't seem to be impressed to be there. He took down my information and symptoms and then then asked "so you are doing okay right"? This was a tricky question to answer because I knew if I minimized symptoms I might get pushed back. I responded "well I'm not doing okay, I'm here afteralll and have been getting chest shocks just a few minutes ago". "But you are okay right?" he asked clearly annoyed. Okay I got it he was just making sure I wasn't about to die I guess??? He told me to enter and that I would see a triage nurse within the hour.
As I entered my fears materialized. Nearly every free seat was taken inside by people just as miserable as I was (all masked of course except the sickest young kids who coughed all over and were too young to wear one). Seats were separated by plexi glass which had likely now been there for years. I managed to find what appeared to be the last free seat. I imagined having to get up for any reason and then having to fight to get it back. I questioned whether it was best to leave my belongings on the chair staking my claim but risking them being stolen. Perhaps I could just leave my hat? Or even better leave some dirty kleenex to scare away anyone who might dare try to invade. I settled on making friends with an old woman and her son next to me in hopes they would protect the seat for me. I don't think I have to explain how miserable it is sitting in emergency looking at everyone else who seems worse. The only ones seeming to enjoy themselves are the maskless little shits running around coughing all over.
Luckily within 45 minutes my name was called to see a triage nurse. It's a small victory but you need to remind yourself this is just one very small step in what will be a long assessment wait. The nurse took my vitals and all seemed okay. She wondered if my chest shocks could be related to a recent cold and while she couldn't diagnose mentioned it might be remnants of an infection. I went back to my seat I was please to see my elderly neighbor had kept her end of the social contract and protected my seat. About 30 mins after that I was brought to the registrar and told the wait to see a physician would be 8 plus hours. I looked around at all the miserable suckers I told myself "fuck this". I can't do 8 hours here and at least I'm not in immediate danger according to the nurse. I'd read about people waiting 16 hours the previous weekend. I told the registrar thanks but no thanks. I wished my elderly neighbour well and goodluck with the rest of her wait (now 4 hours for her).
If you want good healthcare in Canada I was going to have to suck it up and call my personal and professional connections to get this checked out.

The next pandemic will give the WHO dictatorial power. The WHO are not elected, will have diplomatic immunity, funded by the Gates Foundation and big Pharma and their policy will be based on equity. Equity means white people last.

Once this becomes binding they can get to work on their "gain of function" research.
Diplomatic immunity! White people last! You can bet the next pandemic will be a killer.

Time for sonatine to start a new thread?
I will get back to my story soon. In the meantime I’m in clinic right now. Masks required for all. And man comes rolling in no mask. Should we call him out?
Oh he is also quadriplegic upper amputations…. But the sign says no exceptions to masking on the door…
Update they made an exception….
Extra update if they really were worried about Covid probably shouldn’t pack a bunch of 80 year olds in small waiting room

Why do you hate science, bro!!!
How does that one Queen song go?
The problem with this theory is that the flu is BACK to normal levels in 2022-23, yet there are still lots of COVID infections (just most of them are non-harmful, especially to those under 65).
Flu infections went to near zero due to the restrictions, sanitizing, lockdowns, and distancing required at the time. These were mostly useless in stopping COVID, but were accidentally effective at bringing flu numbers to almost nothing.
This shows you how anti-scientific Democrats are at this point, regarding COVID. It's indefensible.

The House voted about a week ago to end this ridiculousness, and it passed: https://www.reuters.com/world/us/us-...nt-2023-02-08/
Quote:
The U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday voted to end a requirement that most foreign air travelers be vaccinated against COVID-19, one of the few remaining pandemic travel restrictions still in place.
The vote was 227 to 201 with seven Democrats joining Republicans. No Republicans voted against the bill.
Of 201 Democrats voting, 194 voted AGAINST ending the vax requirement for foreign travelers to the US!
This is insanity. Note that the vaccination requirement simply states that you need to have been fully vaccinated at some point -- even over 2 years ago! This does nobody any good. The vaccine does not stop transmission, and even if it did, any vaccine from 2021 would have worn off by now, and would not at all prevent catching symptomatic Omicron at this point.
There is absolutely zero reason to require foreigners visiting to be vaxxed.
Even Canada and Australia, two of the most restrictive countries during COVID, have removed this requirement for foreign travelers. Yet 194 out of 201 Democrats voted against doing the same!
It really is a cult at this point.
SCIENCE!!!!
