point being, let's say trump expressly extorted ukraine and was caught on tape doing so
if pelosi started impeachment proceedings, any republican that voted against trump in the house or senate would be primaried and voted out of office. they won't pay a price for not holding trump accountable, they'd pay a price for doing so.
