I'm aware you're just stating what many Americans feel but probably wouldn't say out loud, or even admit to themselves in some cases.

But surely there's a ton of decent young people who just fucked up for w/e reason and don't deserve the crazy harsh sentences handed down to them.

Would go as far to say that there's people on here who could've easily been on the end of a BS sentence if they'd gotten unlucky and caught carrying something they shouldn't have been... Or at least they know somebody close to them who this could happen to.

And for what?.... Profit for the scummy few who are in some cases worse than the people who they sent down.

Ya that's fucked up. So simple 'possession' of crack carries the same sentence as actual supplying/dealing coke. Insane.

Although pound for pound crack should carry a heavier punishment for the simple reason it's way more addictive than coke, and thus increases the chances of people committing crimes to feed their habit.

But simple possession of one class A drug should never carry the same sentence as dealing another class A.

Sounds like they're killing two birds with one stone to me....

Racial targeting the poor to fill their prison4profit cells. While also making it a huge deterrent to those who can easily afford and might be tempted.

Like I've had a recreational coke habit my whole life. It's a great drug. But I'd never carry a rock down my sock if it was going to get me around 3-5 years prison (which is what I'd be getting for 18g's of coke in the UK)

Sounds like a soap opera and it is. The tip of the drug berg was with acid, maybe still. Weight was also used in acid busts. They would weigh the blotter sheets, compre it to the almost weightless drug and hand out some 30 plus, plus type sentences.
