It's not that the left denied that the protests would spread COVID-19. It's that they mostly ignored it, and when they did mention it, there was never a tone of "these protesters are putting lives in danger by being out there". It was always a tone of, "This is beautiful seeing so many people come together to fight or racial justice... we love seeing this.... ummm... oh and a few people down there might get corona."

At the same time, the same left shamed the "reckless" right for reopening and for having Trump rallies.

We see the daily images coming out of Florida and Los Angeles. Social distances & masks? Nah, why bother.

The protests didn’t help but their importance wanes when you see daily habits. I see that masks are finally mandatory but I doubt compliance will approach the east coast.

Yes , there has been an issue getting everyone onboard for the masks, which I expected.

The point I'm making is that the mainstream media runs from pillar to post screaming "OMG DANGER DANGER DANGER" when it's right wingers congregating, and barely a peep about it when it's left wingers doing it.

The right has been consistent on this. You haven't seen much shaming of left-wingers getting together, aside from the context of, "Wait, and you were shaming us for protesting and congregating??"
