As a first generation American, I find that the most patriotic people are those that have immigrated to this country from a shithole, for lack of a better word.
I have found that first and second generation Americans of any descent tend to appreciate this country way more than those who have generations of lineage in this country, for the most part.
It's people that live here and still have a connection to their country of descent that realize how fortunate they are just to be here.
So in short, no I wouldn't have a problem with asians making up 60% of our government.
but only if they are buddhist or atheist

But, my perception of America is different from many people, I'll admit.
To me, being American always meant that you were white, a notion that was crammed down my throat by my commie teachers and what felt like society itself.
As I've grown, I learned what being American really is to me, and it has nothing to do with race, color, religion, creed, nationality, or any other nomenclature used to divide and conquer the masses. No, to me, being American means that you subscribe to the idea that every man was created equal, and that the idea has extended to, everyone is created equal.
Our system of government has the ability to change, and so does our country, so what was once a racist white supremacist country, now is the definition of a transitioning, true, multicultural society.
This would not have been able to take place anywhere else in the world.
We can dwell on the past or realize that we all can create a better future. I choose to focus on the latter.
Therefore, I don't take issue with any race holding more of a percentage of "power", as long as they believe that they can make this a better place than before....

There is nothing true about this statement. Many American Jews are critical of the tactics of the current Israeli regime and feel empathy for the plight of the Palestinian people. At the end of the day the vast majority of American Jews absolutely support Israel, and are well aware the Palestinian people voted a govt into power whose mission statement is the destruction of Israel. Highly educated fits under the "culture" umbrella, and is surely a big part of it, but not all of it. I don't know the statistics, but I would guess other highly educated minority groups are under-represented in politics, e.g. Indian Americans and Asians.Quote:

Banking and finance, the news media and entertainment, the legal system and your judges are also over represented to name but a few.
Any minority that has excessive power and influence is a problem for any country, and perhaps even the human race in its entirety. IMHO.
