Trevor Milton, the founder of electric vehicle start-up Nikola who was sentenced to prison last year for fraud, was pardoned by President Donald Trump, the White House confirmed Friday.
The pardon of Milton, who was sentenced to four years in prison for exaggerating the potential of his technology, could wipe out hundreds of millions of dollars in restitution that prosecutors were seeking for defrauded investors.
Milton, 42, and his wife donated more than $1.8 million to a Trump re-election campaign fund less than a month before the November election, according to the Federal Election Commission.
At Milton’s trial, prosecutors say a company video of a prototype truck appearing to be driven down a desert highway was actually a video of a nonfunctioning Nikola that had been rolled down a hill.
Milton had not been incarcerated pending an appeal.
are we going to talk about how musk wants to spend $200 billion of teslas capital on his vanity AI pet project that burns through $1bn a month with absolutely no roads to profitability?

If you have time try to read or listen to the Proctor and Gamble earnings call on the subject of tariffs.
I’m still thinking about it a day later.
Diapers, soap, Old Spice, paper products, tampons, etc
They ate $1b but discussed strategy to slowly pass along tariff costs to consumers. Illustrates the delayed nature as companies often have yet to decide on a strategy.
I’m an inflation guy so there’s that.

The drone footage has me reevaluating my whole EV attitude. There is a before and after happening here.
Apparantly Rimac is still independent. Volkswagen is a minority shareholder.
Mate seems a very young and less weird Elon. Without all the government subsidy too.

I lightened up on stocks a lot today. Does anyone else feel like a crypto and general market correction is overdue?
I 100% agree. How can we hurt the most people in the shortest amount of time? Folks are all fearlessly long (leveraged too). That is the MOST people. Time to thin the herd.
But I'm trying, Ringo. I'm trying real hard to be the shepherd.
America’s darling PLTR hit $189 yesterday and gave it up kinda hard. Exhaustion move. Shake the noobs out before we continue the run to new highs having bought at better prices. PLTR is just one example.
Curious what narrative will be attributed. It’s just game theory.
I own 0 shares of pltr and nvda for the 1st time in what seems like years now. I also sold all positions in ETH and BTC today. As for the narrative, you're the inflation guy. I think its that, geo politics, domestic anxiety and a possible future surprise. It seems like the tariff situation has worked out ok but its not fully played out and could create head winds again.
Europe is weak and getting a lot weaker too, no?
In my own mind - the money supply is expanding in several ways.
At this point I could riff in several directions….. How about this - Trump wants lower rates. We will have a looooong period of “negative real interest rates”. As an added bonus this helps deflate the debt.
When the dollar is worth less and real rates are negative the sharp money piles into assets. Dollars stuffed in your mattress is worth less daily. Assets including the stock market will inevitably rise. It’s just self defense. Whether you are really making money is a a fun debate (Boz).Quote:
Negative real interest rates occur when the nominal interest rate is lower than the inflation rate, meaning that the purchasing power of money decreases over time. In this situation, even if you earn interest on savings, the value of that interest is less than the increase in prices, resulting in a loss of purchasing power.

I posted a chart of the stock market over time priced in Gold instead of crummy dollars. Kinda flat.
PLTR, UEC and all that are sweet outliers compared to some Fidelity Fund of course. Cheers
The RETRACEMENT we anticipate is just gamesmanship.
Of course I could be all wrong. EoT ™

What cute advertising campaign will Buffet suggest?
Buffet was famously Geico (gecko)
So an AI Luigi Mangione? He exposed the fraud and made United family friendly again? Luigi solves other routine domestic problems in the ad campaign. America loves Luigi. High Q rating.
