On a serious note though, I went to a nutritionist would said I have 18 percent body fat. This surprised me as I thought I was in better shape being 6-2 185. However, I have been sloppy the last few months. What is best way to get down to the 10-12 range?

was it done by caliper, which i find inaccurate , unless its done by someone who knows what they are doing, if so how many parts of the body did they measure?
6-2 185? it all depends on your frame, but is sounds like thats pretty lean
i have clients who have a fat% of below 8% around their shoulders and arms, 20%, lower back or abdomen, it varies on ones body composition
best way to get it down to 10-12% is
weights to build muscle + run at calorie deficit= lower body fat
if you want to speed up the weight loss you should do some form of cardio, be it a treadmill or fucking, who cares, as long as you burn calories...but make sure you are doing some form of resistance training
diet + no weights = skinnyfat

I am actually pretty lean, but I used to be ripped and want to regain that form. I am def going to step up the cardio even though i hate it. What about foods? I was always told that diet is a huge part of losing the fat.

imo they inaccurate as machines are all weighted differently, but you can use it as a guide as long as you use the same machine at the same time of day and with the same clothing...try not to change any variables
since your body has muscle memory, you would be able to regain the lost muscle muscle in 4-6 weeks if you train smart
eat smart too, just include the major food groups in each meal, keep the portion sizes small, and you can control the amount of weight you lose or put on by the amount of calories you consume and the amount af cardio you are doing

i advise clients to eat their meat/chicken first, then vegies and carbs last, this way by the time you consumed the first 2 you will probably be full and only eat a little pasta or whatever carbs you are having
pasta/potatos are not calorie dense, its the bloody condiments/sauces that one pours over the food are
eg deep fried potatos as opposed to potatos sliced, sprayed lightly with canola spray and seasoned, then thrown in the oven for 20 minutes...you just saved yourself a couple of hundred calories
if you cant bbq meat, just spay it with canola spray instead of frying it with oil, as one loses the benefits of olive oil due to its low burning point
pastas are reasonably healthy, its just that ppl tend to eat a whole bowl of it, instead of having a small portion accompanied with meat and vegies
also, stay away from cream sauces that are are full of calories and saturated fat
not all fats are equal, as fats in nuts, salmon, even olive oil are healthy...

Now lets get back to the reason for this thread here. Druff u have flatlined in ur attempt to get to the weight u want. I mean good job losing 15 lbs or whatever but I dont think thats what u were going for when u set out to get healthier and live longer. I will tell you when I got a full time job some years back I ballooned up 50 lbs and was pissed at myself. No kidding I actually avoided looking myself in the mirror when I got out of the shower. Joined a gym and I lasted 2 wks before I found it boring and filled with annoying fags like fluffer. My bud put me onto running w/weights and it really did the trick. You get these hand weights, start really light for awhile then move up, and then you run like u normally would. My weight fell off quick and my arms never looked better. After I got to where I was happy I eased off and did it less, but I still run w/weights like 2 times a wk and it seems to maintain. That's what I would suggest, esp cuz it is harder to build new muscle after 40. I am not 40 yet but thats what I would suggest for u. gl
