Republicans only regret is using Iraq as the common enemy to empower the CIA & NSA after 9/11

While this strategy worked beautifully there must be some part of them that regrets not shipping Hussein more weapons and cash.

Supporting & installing oppressive & cruel despots to protect oil interests is the obvious & proven play.

If we could only turn back the clock to simpler times.

It was the right play when you profiteer from warfare. They couldn't have made a tenth of what they made just supporting Hussein and oil conveniently bought alliance and the lack of real resistance from other nations. Iraq was on the short list of potential targets way before 9/11 (not that there was any connect between the two or even a need for one).

Direct war is a slightly easier sell to the people paying for the fun and less questions get asked. It's all support the troops till they get back home homeless and then it's time to be afraid of the evil crack negro.

That's a really effective hit piece even if it's fiction/guesswork, because it's believeable to a degree.

That O'Malley guy was the white Baltimore councilman>Gov that The Wire based Tommy Carcetti on. That part feels contrived. He is rumored to have a kid with a black reporter from an affair. That just seems to be a little too perfect in a Post story.

It's probably guesswork, but they could hit on parts of it. Hill isn't loved by the real left. When you were listing scandals that could take her down last week I was thinking that basically none of them had any run for a Republican in a national election.

People have decided what Hillary is or isn't 20 years ago. Only the core 35% not voting for her anyway give that shit a thought. If she gets got on her past, it's going to come from her own. The Clintons were Teflon on stuff from the right, but those on the left know where the bodies are really buried, particularly the financial ones. If she emerges they'll protect her to the death because she's as close as it comes to a sure win in a national election, and anything but an R will be enough. But there is certainly a faction on the left that don't want to see her get that far. Whether Obama is in that faction is hard to tell given their past. They had reason to be at each others throats when they were.

Ultimately it's really hard to throw away a candidate with such high win equity. You're creeping in on Tea Party-level purity tests at that point that usually produce a fail candidate absolutely adored by a faction that can't win a general.

You'll continue to see stuff like this for a good while. Obama has a disincentive to be involved at this point. Hillary has a disincentive to be around him when he's low. The right has a huge incentive to try and create drama real or fake. It attempts to create a rift between the women and black voter which is win/win for them. The media doesn't like a foregone race as its bad for business. The fringe contenders on left have a lot of friends in media.

You're not going to really know until it all shakes out and he throws an arm around someone to rally the black vote. And even then you won't know how they arrived there.

The words "Leading Economists" and "Peter Schiff" don't belng in the same sentence. And that's coming from a fan of the guy who owns most of his books and has been to his lectures.

I'm a little disapointed in him right now frankly. His new financial product is a VC fund for Apps. Basicaly everything that is against his book and everything that Cuban just said is the largest bubble in the history of man.

That said, I hope a republican wins, HOWEVER, I do not want them to control the house and senate as well. Bad shit tends to happen when one party controls everything...ie Obumacare.
