One only needs to look at the full blown idiots in charge of the country to wonder why younger people are so fucked up. These fucked up kids, whatever their ideology, have a common theme of wanting the attention of other losers online. They lack actual social circles.
The adults rarely see it coming. How would they? They’ve grown up in another room with their door closed and they don’t have a clue what their kid is ingesting all day. And half the parents now hate the neighbors because of what they posted on Facebook, and spew that to their children who were raised entirely without being socialized as they were by actual human interaction, so way more likely to do something like this.
This is rinse and repeat every day.
I look at my friends kids and some are successful academically, but not socially. Some the opposite. The ones flourishing in life are kids that were well balanced and good students but also in a lot of activities. It’s harder now to raise a healthy kid competing with all the garbage.
Growing up, usually bad or troubled kids were the product of truly fucked up parents. Now, one only need to be inattentive and the internet will fuck them up all by itself. That’s the commonality with almost all these new mass shooters in the suburbs. Everyone digs in after it happens and you’ll find a trail that was alarming online. We will argue about the guns and other shit and miss the elephant in the room because being zoned out and sleepwalking through life on our phones is a bipartisan problem no one wants to cop to.
