When you really watch EZ’s video he really is not delving into much that is apparent from afar. He did show the corporation “receipts,” but didn’t give any information that would be considered an intrusion into their personal lives. I think EZ is entertaining and I like his shtick and the whole tea spilling thing is pretty funny.
The one mistake he made was pinning that guy’s comment. It was long, personal & creepy. He exercised poor judgement. He seems like a sharp enough guy to at least know not to pin that comment. To his credit he did take it down. It’s not his responsibility to comb through every comment. Each YouTube creator handles their comments the way they see fit. But I would actually agree with Sarah that pinning a comment is a bit of an endorsement. It’s kind of like a retweet on Twitter.
I do believe Sarah is kind of a nerdy, somewhat introverted & shy person by nature. That is just my read. She doesn’t come off to me as someone who really wanted to be famous. This is the rub. YouTube is largely a personality driven medium, hence the name “You” Tube. With the platform she created a lot of negative shit will come her way. Some admittedly from me on this forum. Seems to me she’s not wired to handle all the negative stuff and gets extremely defensive.
This can happen, particularly to someone who doesn’t seek fame. It all kind of just happened. Credit must be given to the creation of Slot Lady. But she wasn’t prepared correctly or no longer has the capacity to deal with the negativity that has come her way in a suitable matter. That is clear from her reaction to EZ’s Tea video. Which as I said, really wasn’t anything any YouTuber her size shouldn’t be prepared to handle.
She either made that video because she just couldn’t help herself or there is more to the story. If there is more to the story, she would of been better served either getting it out herself or trying to contact EZ and see if he was going to run with it. By more to the story I am talking about “public” stuff, not personal bullshit we all go through.
The problem is everyone basically draws their own line and makes their own judgement where the line of suitable for public consumption ends, and it becomes an intrusion into someone personal life just for the sake of sensationalism. Everyone is playing by their own rules on the internet and moving the goal posts as they see fit. It’s the new Wild West, but much safer behind our computers.
I would agree that if what you saw was for real than that would be very bad. That will come out and frankly I am skeptical because something like that would be hard to hide. People are going to recognize them.
But just seeing something in YouTube comments means absolutely shit 0.0000 for me. That’s not even a “where there’s smoke there is fire” situation for me. Someone can go to my little channel right now and type I’m a murderer/rapist whatever, etc. So I think it’s extremely important to not jump the gun on anything based on YT comments.
