I don't want to kick OSA while he's down, but it's a legit horrific fold. I would open jam. As played I would call. Basically:
Open jam > raise/call >>>>>>>>>> open fold >>> raise/fold
Im shocked that OSA is a big fish
I thought everyone is opening with 2-2.2x these days, especially when short.
But that aside, yeah, terrible fold unless you know the BB is a huge nit who is only doing that with a super premium hand.
I'm probably not open jamming that, though, because you're only being called by better, and simply taking down 1650 worth of blinds/antes isn't really what you're going for here.
By opening, you're looking like you're stealing, and it's much more likely someone will shove over you with worse or a racing hand.
Not saying open-shoving is horrible, but I'm not doing it here with 7800. If I have 6k, then yeah, I'm open shoving.
As I said, the shoving isn't horrible, but I wouldn't do it in this spot. I would rather invite dominated hands in, and double-up that way (either pre or post). Yes, you open yourself up to a tough decision if you get called pre and then miss the flop, but you can either give up at that point and concede 1300 or whatever you raised pre, or go for a smallish c-bet, or even a shove, depending upon the board makeup.
I just feel you're getting folds a fair amount of time from everyone remaining anyway, and if a double-up is what you're going for, you're probably better off with a raise/call line.
I feel the shove is going to run into either racing-or-dominated if called, or just taking the blinds if not called. AJ in late position here is the type of hand which is too good to be thrilled with just taking the blinds, and not good enough to be ahead when a shove is called.
But what do I know, as I seem to miss cashing by 0-3% of the field in everything I play these days.
I can see how folding is bad. However, this guy was a nit and him shoving with a weaker ace was not a possibility in my head and I didnt want to best case flip for all the chips, at that point. I already did so with 7s and figured I had at least another orbit
OSA can you summarize who had a piece of You?
Really surprised with Borgata's customer service and overall appeal. For a casino thats supposedly the best in AC and charges at least 50% more on hotel rates, I shouldn't be waiting 10-15 everytime I go to a sandwich shop, imo.
Im at Harrah's now, where there's hair in the sinks and loud housekeepers talking to each other in the hallway, but at least im not paying up the nose for it.
AJO 13bb in late position is a standard get it in spot. No wonder you couldn't even sell half your package
And if your gonna open, bitch please you CAN NOT be folding. With a stack that shallow you can't exactly be handing out free chips
How did a thread about OSA turn into an expose about how bad Druff is at poker?
Hands that have an advantage over you:
JJ
KK
AA
AQ
AK
Hands that a LP nit is going to put you all in with, giving you 46% against a pot where you stand to lose 6300 or gain 6300+9375:
Any pair from TT to 22 realistically, any suited ace, and probably a ragged ace as well given that you just stacked off with 23s an hour ago.
I get that no one is staking you because they expect you to cash but this is not advanced theory here, this is just common sense.
