How is this fight looking?
Call on Tyrone Woodley, he's going to win.
Looking for a Rd 1 Brown win here
Hi!
I'm Matt Brown and I'm here for the paycheck.
Thought I saw a hint of Rose's buttcheek, but false alarm.
Yea, no ass there.
Love Rose tho.
Kuntmissioner- Liver kicks are deadly for sure. We don't see as many in MMA as in kickboxing but if you take one cleanly the fight is gonna be over.
I was joking around but what the fight did show is Ellenberger wanted this win way more. Brown wasn't ready from the start and you have to be at all times fighting a guy like Ellenberger.
As good as Matt Brown is, his defensive technique is shit. Sometimes he gets away with it via sheer guts but ultimately he has gone as far as hes gonna go in this sport.
I wanted to bet Woodley but not at the price it changed to.
the worst part about this is no wonderboy vs lawler.
that would have been the fight.
Why is Woodley thanking Todd Witteles after winning this fight tho?
New MMA rules voted in today:
Heel kicks to the kidneys, grabbing clavicle are no longer fouls.
Moving forward with your fingers extended is explicitly forbidden.
"Touching" the ground no longer constitutes being grounded, apparently it requires something like 100% of the palm to be on the ground.
They modified the scoring criteria but its not clear how honestly, and they banned sleeves below the elbow and shorts below the knees. Some other minor tweaks to womens gear.
The definition of a grounded opponent was changed so no more bullshit putting your fingertips on the ground to be "grounded". Full palm at least or something like that is the new rule.
All the significant SAC's voted for it except New Jersey. Go figure.
The scoring rules change is where it could affect the betting bottom lines:
http://www.mmafighting.com/2016/8/2/...a-new-rules-inQuote:
The most significant change is more clarity in the scoring criteria, long a bugaboo for fans and fighters alike. The new scoring language underscores that effective striking and grappling are the top tier for judging rounds — and only if those things are equal do you judge aggression and then cage control.
The definition of a 10-8 round is also more liberal with the changes, asking judges to look at dominance, duration and impact (or damage). If a round has two of those characteristics, a 10-8 should be considered. If a round has all three of those characteristics, it must be a 10-8 round.
The scoring language was amended in discussion Tuesday to address the presence of the word "damage." New Jersey took issue with that word on a political and legal level as did others, including Bellator MMA head of regulatory affairs Cory Schafer. The word damage will still be used in training judges, but it will not be part of public rules due to the implication.

Yair is a dervish and Swanson is going to probably stop Kawajiri quickly.
Dont care about anything else but Im taping it and will likely skim.
I got Cub Swanson by inside distance +160 and Zak Cummings +100.
Why is Alex Caceres headlining a UFC event???
Starting off with Sherman -100 and Kawa +260
just threw on fightpass and heard Stann talking about the altitude having an effect in the first round of this heavyweight fight.
fuck. altitude does not make for fun fights, hope its not too severe.
Camozi KO/TKO +1050
Also Win Inside distance +550
Lol did Cummings really try to do some sort of cartwheel with 5 seconds left?
Can he even see at all?
edgar would knucklerape bermudez.
I've always thought Conor was overrated based solely off the competition we saw him against except for Diaz and his fluke win against Aldo where wtf knows what happens if it went longer but it's even funnier seeing wrestlers call him out when McGregor is doing nothing different then what they do which is talk shit to hype up fights.
I am a long time wrestling fan since I was a kid too btw and huge MMA fan so no biased opinion here.
Conor is legit in his own weight class.
Anything else he's doing is WWE-like and looking for the big paydays.
Definitely could see him in the WWE longer term.
He has no weight class at this point. He literally almost killed himself getting to 145 _before_ the new weight cutting rules. And once you start showing up for fight weigh ins 25lbs over what you used to cut to, your body is pretty much done.
If, somehow, he spent the 6 weeks necessary to cut to 145, its impossible to imagine he would have any sort of conditioning whatsoever past the 1st round and his twitch time would be for total shit.
The only reason hes hanging onto the 145 belt is because its part of his brand. I expect retirement soon if he doesnt score the worlds luckiest first round KO against Diaz on the 20th.
At #UFC202, Nate Diaz is getting 66% of moneyline bets vs. Conor McGregor, but has moved from +100 to +115 since opening in June at 5Dimes.
the lines on nate are just awful so i did a parlay across nate / rumble / cowboy and got 4-1'ish.
By the way you guys are all missing the trees through the Forest. McGregor is going to fight in wrestlemania and its in part payback for Lesner filling in at UFC 200. What's brilliant about it is most freshman wrestlers come in as faces (good guys) and beat up a heal (bad guy). It seems like they are setting Conor to come in as a huge shit talking heal and they will use him to get his ass beat and put some good guy on the wwe roster "over" in a big spot.
Honestly it's so easy to see I'm suprised HBO hasn't tried to write a show about it.
Conor could win. Everyone wrote off Nate's chances the first fight, so he came in with no training, no plan, and nothing to lose. And for about 7 minutes he got his ass kicked.
Conor could exploit Nate's slow starts and chain together some sort of TKO if Nate fucks around too much, or more likely win by cut stoppage.
But if Conor doesnt seal the deal by the time Nate starts to find his range, I mean, its a wrap for Burger King. If Nate hits his stride when the bell rings for round 2, Conor leaves his corner a legit +750 underdog. And that's being conservative.
I'm going to this on Saturday, can't wait!
Watched the first fight again the other day, I think it'll be far closer this time, imho the main problem McGregor has though is overcoming the difference in reach.
If I was going to bet on it my money would be going with Nate, but I want McGregor to win so I'm not touching it.
Atmosphere should be awesome.
very weird and confusing development in jon jones piss test case... someone told dana white that 'jones didnt piss hot for what usada says he took'.
no fucking clue what that means or where it goes or if it was fucking jones who said it to dana, but apparently usada might have fucked up? which also makes me wonder about the lesnar results...?

As it turns out, Jones could be exonerated and soon. "Well, it's coming back now that it looks like he did not take the supplement that everybody thought he took," UFC President Dana White told radio host Jim Rome on his show on Tuesday. "We'll see how this thing plays out."
During a July 18 hearing with the Nevada Athletic Commission , it was revealed Jones tested positive for Hydroxy-clomiphene, an anti-estrogenic agent, and Letrozole metabolite, an aromatase inhibitor. Both are estrogen blockers typically used after a cycle of anabolic steroids to suppress unwanted side effects. The positive results derive from a June 16 out-of-competition drug test.
"I don't even know if this is public. I didn't know if I can talk about it," White said. "Normally, I talk about anything, but when it comes to medical stuff, you can't do it. It's looking like Jon Jones did not take the drug everybody thought he took. It looks like it's something else.
http://www.mmafighting.com/2016/8/16...ngly-take-drugQuote:
In addition, while White acknowledged there may have been somewhat of a rush to judgment on Jones, the Jackson-Winklejohn fighter isn't without some blame, suggesting even if Jones ingested the banned substance accidentally, there is still a measure of culpability.
"He didn't get a bum wrap," White explained. "He definitely didn't get a bum wrap, but the substance that he was on, it was a pill that you take when you're coming off of steroids. But this thing is apparently in other things. Jon took something else.
"Where he doesn't come off clean is you have to tell USADA everything that you put in your body leading up to the fight and he did not," White noted.
If that's true, and Jones is exonerated, I hope this spurs more of a reason why UFC needs a fighters' union
I dont see how any substance one takes that contains those blockers would result in Jon being exonerated. I'll say no more until the smoke clears but I'm really not buying any of the current 'Jones was innocent' style narratives floating around. Not by any measure at all.
Also Im not sure what a union would do here... Jones fucked up and caught a 2 year suspension, period. I dont see how anything could change that, union wise.
Force an equitable arbitration system where a side with both the NSAC/USADA side and the UFCFA (ex) lawyers (paid for by dues) would be arbitrated indepedently in situations like this where a fighter failed a test but has a proper appeal to get a sentence reduced (i.e cases like Romero's) in relation to the intention of the infraction, or even exonerated, in special cases.
Jones fucked up by not informing them what he was taking, but he should be able also to have a day "in court" so to speak (like MLB, NFL players do) with a more formal appeals process. In this instance, he'd probably lose bc with the cocaine and weed priors, but the options he has now to challenge anything from USADA/NSAC in relation to other professional athletes is really poor from a rights standpoint, IMO.
I appreciate the sport making an effort to be clean, but their needs to be more balance b/t fighters' rights and these doping agencies. Nick Diaz's ridiculous sentence was only reduced due to internet reaction and peer pressure......but if he had a more robust and proper representation, like an army of union lawyers, I am sure the NSAC would of thought twice to go as hard as they did on him and he probably gets the whole suspension wiped out due to institutional administrative errors that the NSAC clearly committed.
Heres the thing.. I believe a union could pressure Zuffa, or whoever the fuck owns UFC now, to use a yardstick other than Dana's emotions to determine fighter pay, compensation, so on.
But what a union could never accomplish is putting a dent in USADA agendas.
Whats more, every athlete on earth is responsible for what goes into their body. It simply doesnt matter *why* Jones pissed hot. At this point, it literally makes no difference to *SAC or USADA if he shot roids into his balls minutes before the fight or he took an over the counter antihistamine a month before. He has a list of shit he needs to avoid, and he didnt perform due diligence. That's just on him, period.
No amount of lawyers in the world are going to influence that process, and the financial resources required would be astronomical despite accomplishing nothing, ever, and the first conversation anyone had would start with "Let me get this straight... 10% of my gross is going to pay for a team of lawyers to unfuck Jon Jones mistakes...?".. At which point your union is over, like on the spot.
IMO the system worked perfectly here.
Caveat: Im really not sure how easily influenced *SAC are but USADA are basically a governing / compliance body and they have a very well defined playbook for this sort of stuff.
