*** Official Flying Stupidity Wagering thread ***

So here we go : Normally I would never place a wager on a Horrible team who doesn't score runs yet I find myself in a quandary . As I did my super research for MLB plays on Monday 4-16-18 . I kept coming back to only one game on the offerings. So lets go 6-0 for the season on a play that may not seem the norm but screams UNLOAD.




Gookies only play for Monday is :

Chicago White Sox +130 vs Oakland A's


So the White sox whole weekend series was postponed vs the Twinkies. Meanwhile the A's have been playing all weekend up in Seattle . Two of the worst teams in the AL will now start a set in Oakland on Monday. The line screams to me bet the White Sox and when that happens I do not hesitate . So I am going to Blaze 2 units on this game and hope the board told me the correct way to go.

BTW, no MLB games until 3:35pm PDT tomorrow, so it will be nice not having to rush in the morning to get all of this stuff in.

Two seriously legit outfits atm. Although Price is not too legit to quit - having pulled himself from his last appearance vs Yankees after giving up 4 runs in 1st inning

Red Sox fans hate him but this is in Anaheim so it’s safe and warm. Having said that, Price is a 1.00 WHIP and has looked damn good other than his Yankee quit

Pro tip: Sawks 7th & 8th inning are a horror show. Kimbral (lights out) may have to go 8th & 9th. It’s a live bet thing I’ve been working with some moderate success

So far the young season is been very good. Yes I am real. Not a dupe . I was an account holder years ago on NWP and even met you once in Vegas. As things evolved in my life and Black Friday came I found myself having to find new ways to make a living. Poker was my mainstream since 2003 . Sports wagering has been good to me over the last few years and until Nevada and New Jersey and Delaware and the newly acquired Pennsylvania combine pools I just cant see myself playing much poker. I do play but not the way it use to be. I peaked out at 75-150 on Stars and fortunately got all my funds out before the dreaded day hit. I live in Northern Arizona and travel to Vegas quite often.

You are on fire with the totals . I do not play a lot of totals in MLB . As you and everybody else knows Sports especially baseball is a long grind . When I find games I like I always will give the reason I like it I also like taking advantage of the overnight lines if I feel it will move away from my number . I do not chase and as you can see I love following divisions and certain teams. In MLB especially you can make a small fortune betting against certain teams and have a much higher win percentage by seasons end. Most people who wager baseball let there heart get in the way by betting impossible games such as two great teams playing each other. I tend to stay away from these games . There are A-B-C-D teams in my ratings and where I find most value is when B or C teams are on the road against D teams . A teams vs A teams or A vs B are games I for the most part do not look at.

The best part of Baseball wagering is most days you have a wager .

The wager I have with the White Sox vs The A's is not a normal thing for me as a D vs D matchup would not seem on face value as a positive place to put my money . Yet if you break the game down clearly you can see Lopez for the Sox has not pitched in 8 days where he has had 2 starts and given up a combined 4 hits . This guy has a .069 Era and is very sharp. Also who doesn't like days off? I know the season is early but the Sox whole weekend series was canceled . Flip this to Mengden the A's pitcher . This guy has not pitched well at all in 3 starts . He has given up 6 runs in each of his starts and here is a really good NUGGETT of information . He is 0-10 Lifetime at home. So you take all that wrapped up in the fact that the A's just played a tough three game set against a division rival and that most visiting teams best shot at a win on the road comes in the first game . I say give me +130 all day long .

San: Read above post. When two good teams are playing each other I find zero value in playing these games. Never take a lean with your heart. Much better spots . Now if you are an action bettor . Please feel free. I only look for good spots to put my money. I do not let fandom get in the way. This is a business to me I rarely even watch the games .

Sorry duplicate post from the other thread but it is topical.

USA Today reported that three women who were sitting behind the visitors’ dugout at Kauffman Stadium on Friday night for the Angels game against the Kansas City Royals were asked by stadium security to stop cheering so loudly during Shohei Ohtani’s at-bats. The message reportedly came from the Angels dugout.

I've got two games of my own right now, and I'm going to tail one of Gookie's.

I have to say that the White Sox line makes zero sense to me, for the reasons Gookie stated. Most of the moneylines I've seen in 2018 so far have been pretty solid, but this one is mind-boggling, and indeed the public is jumping on it hard. That worries me, as Vegas isn't adjusting, so this could be a Trapper John, MD situation. I guess I'm falling for the trap, because I'm taking it, too.

So I'm going with:

Sox Line is no more mind boggling then the Phillies line yesterday. Sox are a really bad team and the reason I don't see the line movement is cut and dry they don't score runs . I am banking on them scoring tonight . 3 days of batting practice combined with basically what equals a pitching machine for the A's . I would not call this a trap game. I call it Vegas not adjusting and that being there problem . LOL> :)

Was looking through the line movements on the Heat vs Sixers game tonight and while the line floats between 6.5 and 7.5 all day there was weird money line change this morning at William Hill

I'm getting ready to eat a bunch of Crow on Ohtani. He looked incredible last time out. Only thing is both times out he's faced the A's and this is the first time he will be facing an upper echelon lineup.

It's a no play for me as a result but I wouldn't blame anyone for jumping on the Oh-Face train. He looks good in this one and it might be time to auto back him.

Last minute:

Golden State/San Antonio under 206 -115 (205 -110 ok)

Went 0-1-1 on my unders. Both got to late innings quite close, though Mets/Nationals ended up blowing way past it (currently 13 runs as I type this). Col/Pit squeezed by with a tie (6-2 final).

The bullpens were horrible in the Mets game.

Need Gookie's White Sox pick to hit to have a winning MLB day.

Not over till its over . I will note that there has been a huge discrepancy in the balls and strikes called by umpire. Seemingly to me . No excuse . I said the Sox just don't score runs . A's Pitcher has received a ton of calls and sox pitcher throws in same spot for a ball. Cant win all of them . I still think this was a good bet no matter what happens .

Todays Recap : A well thought out plan gets pummeled into submission . When you play two horrible teams I suppose this is what you deserve . So we had the White Sox for 2 units at +130 and that ticket got torched . All we can do is get back at it tomorrow . No emotion . No excuses .
