Can somebody who isn’t an outcast of this forum tell me if this is worthwhile or not?

9/10 Every American should watch this.

That really puts it in perspective.
Normally I turn to Krypt in these matters but I need a review from someone who was alive in Shandling’s prime.
I suffer enough disappointment and I’m on the ragged edge. I just can’t risk going into this blind.
It does look really good.

You gonna watch?
Depressing is not a deal killer.
I know nothing about Shandling as a person. I don’t even know if he is donkdown. Truthfully, depressing piques my interest. Dull and stupid - that’s what I fear.
I will take your guarantee & offer a quick review.
Was he ever on Cavett? Ha
exactly no chance i dont watch this because im a garry shandling completist, as long as The Larry Sanders Show is involved.
its depressing likely because he actually had a very difficult career. his greatest, funniest, most brilliant accomplishment, The Larry Sanders Show, was based on two dynamics; showbiz is fucking terrible and the types of people who become stars are fucking terrible. these werent pulled out of a hat.
there was a lot of pain in his life and he died much too soon.
again, ill be watching it.
Zen Diaries was a 10
4½ hours about a Jewish self obsessed neurotic - and we aren’t talking about Druff’s radio show.
It was 2 episodes and the 4½ hours length stunned me. Even Tyde’s biography couldn’t fill 4½ hours. Nevertheless, I was completely gripped from beginning to end.
Life got in the way of being a Shandling completist myself. Seeing that there is a thread that bound all his work together was fascinating.
Surprised me that he lived on a steady diet of dick jokes. Khalwat would appreciateQuote:
My girlfriend moved in with another guy, so I dumped her, because that’s where I draw the line
The insights into the 70’s/80’s comedy farm system was a huge bonus.
Tortured, neurotic, lonely. Using comedy to gain self understanding.
The stories about turning down the Tonight Show after a lifetime of obsessing about even just appearing there was unbelievable. More than anything it proved the devotion and unwillingness to compromise his art. Leno as much as said he was more willing to grind it out. God mode stuff
His relationship with his agent/manager was fascinating too.
Shandling was an asshole too. His good friend and protege, Judd Apatow, who did this doc was not always kind and was honest about Shandling’s faults. Shandling wasn’t Weinstein but he was definitely a product of his times in entertainment and treated women badly. That was noteworthy
I am terrible at reviews. I just know what I like and I loved this.

Sonatine, I was trying to drum up a conversation yesterday with my daughter about the FaceBook thing. I was interested to hear the Amazon tech guy’s response. She immediately deferred, as if bored by it all, and derailed the conversation by saying that the Google & Amazon guys are into the book “Snow Crash”.
I was a few drinks into the night and didn’t quite follow her pitch. In the clarity of this morning, I took a quick look. The most interesting thing I saw was it was written in 1992. Something prescient there seems to resonate with them now. Hell, most of them weren’t even born then so I am intrigued.
What gives?
Snow Crash is awful but it gets a huge pass because its legitimately visionary.
It's just about exploiting undefined access/conduits being created by a tech revolution. In the book it turns into a way to essentially 'crash' peoples minds remotely, like bricking them. It's very poorly written but otherwise eye opening.
A lot of people with poor taste in literature consider it transcendent.
^^^
This folks is how you write a review. I legit laughed out loud.
The date still stuns me. Snow Crash - the static of a broken television set is something she has never seen.
Sometimes you gotta plow through something just to connect with the current culture. God help me, there is this thing Roseanne to deal with now.
You are freerolling recommendations here and I’m in. Definitely gonna steal the book cause it just seems technically appropriate.
thats such a funny revelation honestly, a whole generation has never seen snow on a tv screen. so true.
I don't mean to upset tine but I enjoyed Snow Crash as fiction. Privatization of security, extreme gated communities, exploration of Fedland, skate tech, Aleutian warrior, living in a storage locker, rat things, Mr. Lee and Enki somehow woven into a two day read. When a character downloads software into a new cycle and then software with the exact same name is released into the real world ~ 15 years later.

the hope was always the blue screen where it was dark blue background and the chick was lighter blue...never knew when it would go back to the scrambled bullshit so you had to tug one out in like 5 seconds before the scramble came back...
kids these days can just go to google and find chicks doing all sorts of weird shit in under 2 seconds...

this Documentary makes a person want to fucking shoot some 1% banker/broker.
I feel there will be some not so peaceful correction coming soon to a city centre near you.
I had no idea the poverty in England and the USA its appalling the 2008 bail out is fucked up.
https://www.knowledge.ca/program/super-rich-and-us
Oh they fucked us good alright. Millions in this country put into poverty because of cuts in order to bail out banks & big business. Fuckers who now hide their incredible new wealth offshore to avoid paying the taxes which would help ease said poverty. You couldn't make it up.
Politicians & media are deeply complicit too. They are there to protect against such indecency but instead, they took part in it.
I'm convinced future generations will look back at the current Average Joe in bitter disappointment because we failed to rise up.
Great little piece showing the insane corruption of Lanny Bruer, Holder, and Goldman Sachs ...

Rooster Man, you have gained an unlikely ally in me regarding promoting the watching of the documentary in the bitchute link, as I, too, was convinced by Browder’s account of the Magnitsky affair. And as I started watching this doc, I was skeptically looking for where the director, if driven by an ulterior motive, ‘put the rabbit in the hat’ in making the case against Browder’s account. But I didn’t notice any such trickery despite wanting to believe that it was a hit job.
So, maybe I’ve been fooled by it. Which is why I want to encourage PFA’s many sharp-eyed armchair detectives to check this doc out. And especially the Tinester, San-L-Mar, Sherlock Druff, and even PFA’s own Russia-located intelligence asset, The Tickler, given their relative knowledge sets and fraud-identifying abilities.
To help that along, I’ve included the brief discussion of this doc from Wikipedia’s article on its director, Andrei Nekrasov.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrei...ov?wprov=sfti1
Onward with the truth!Quote:
Nekrasov's film The Magnitsky Act – Behind the Scenes, produced in Norway by Piraya Film, supported by a number of European film funds and the public Franco-German TV network Arte TV and completed in 2016, caused a major controversy. The film alleges that western politicians and media were misled by Bill Browder, a U.S. born investor and campaigner, into believing that the Russian tax consultant Sergei Magnitsky had been persecuted and killed for exposing corruption.[4] Bill Browder’s version of Magnitsky’s life and death has been widely accepted across the world, and became the basis for legislations and sanctions in a number of countries, first of all the U.S.[5] The premiere of Nekrasov’s film at the European Parliament, scheduled for April 26 2016, was stopped at the last moment.[6] A TV broadcast in Germany and France and film’s public screenings were cancelled due to Browder’s legal challenges.[4]
According to Browder and some media, the film was promoted by a group of Russian patriots that included Natalia Veselnitskaya.[7] Over Browder's objections, the Newseum in Washington held a screening in June 2016 hosted by American investigative journalist Seymour Hersh.[5] Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA)'s office actively promoted the screening, sending out invitations from the office of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Europe, Eurasia and Emerging Threats, which Rohrabacher chairs.[7]

Allen Iverson was a good documentary as was Hoop Dreams. Loved when he put lue on his ass with a crossover then steped over him looking like a thug while he did it.
............."This one is a bit long but worth the watch"?
LOL, last time I heard this it was Dark Star w/that moronic 45 minute video telling us why our eyes were lying to us. That ended up w/a cop getting charged w/murder.
So Bitchute and ZeroHege are gonna tell me why WAPO isn't up to snuff? LOL oh ok.
Or ABC, CNN NBC CBS PBS BBC? Only Fox is off script here.
Instead of wasting all this time, just watch the real news. When did they lie to you exactly? I wouldn't waste 2 seconds watching that.
So what is your answer, Fox "news"?
When did the NYTimes lie exactly? when they said Hillary had the server? (Yeah, that wasn't some Alt-R blogger)
Name a real story a deep deep internet guy broke? That Sandy Hook was fake? Seth Rich? The Caravan?
Trump, Birther (5 yrs=1500 lies), Inaug size, He knows Whitaker/he doesn't know Whitaker...WTF is that? He lies, or he has dementia.)
Yeah stick w/Trump Fox, and the rest of the RW nuts, they never lie to you.
