Xi can let his people suffer with no political ramifications. Trump has midterms in a year and a half. He campaigned on bringing prices down. If he doesn’t deliver, the GOP will lose the House.

Yes, I understand the differences and how the world works. It’s why it was laughable to me from the jump.
It’s why you’re a fool to ever pretend you’re a badass who is prepared to go to war when you’re beholden to a dozen different interests that can get you to stand down at any moment whether it be CEOs or politicos.
Who is stupid enough to think a few weeks of pain is going to buckle the Chinese? It’s why all the cheerleading is so laughable.
They’ve subsidized tariffs for years at times. Ate it. They have a hundred different ways to exert pressure on us whether it’s dumping debt, making deals with other countries we just insulted. They play a long game and we do not. They have resolve and we do not.
There they see this as an act of war and circle the wagons. Here I see moms in the reddest districts ever whining about not being able to shop on temu and stock x.
This was all known before this mess. Anyone who really wanted to do something for American workers would craft a plan that made sense. First pass bills shifting money from the service sector into manufacturing. Then take their time and exert pressure in calculated ways to chip away. Even then, maybe in 1985 or even 95, that decision if even done well would come with much higher prices. You’d need a society willing to sacrifice and we aren’t that. You’d also need companies willing to pay employees as the higher cost of living would be across the board. Never happens.
But these morons. They insult everyone and end up with their tail between their legs already having caused a lot of damage and bad will. Amateur hour doesn’t even cover it. Talk about the absolute opposite of diplomacy.
Yes, you've had another predictable monkey tilt. Engaging in moronic name calling is not winning a debate. You can't win the debate because you are weak on the issues.
And you fall for the dumbest shit. Like the MSM telling you "Trump chickenshitted out and paused the tariffs." You ate shit up like it's the truth.
But the reality is Trump kept raising the tariffs on China. He hit them hard, starting with 34% and ran it all the way to 145% as the Chinks kept running theirs up to 125%. But they blinked at Trump's 145% and said they wouldn't raise their tariffs above 125%.
Trump initially placed 20% tariffs on the EU. But after a week the EU said it was willing to negotiate and proposed zero for zero tariffs. They didn't try to retaliate with their own raised tariffs. So Trump threw them a bone and cut the tariffs in half to 10% for 90 days. As it is they've never paid 10% tariffs on cars to the US before. It's 4X what they were paying.
But Trump wants more than zero for zero tariffs. The EU has to stop with the VAT taxes and regulations which are also trade barriers. And Trump wants a 350 billion dollar deal to sell the EU energy instead of them getting it from Russia.
Since everyone ele ignored this top shelf post:
LOL at Trump removing tarriffs on computer parts that America desperately needs
Also LOL at Trump putting a 90 day hold on the tarriffs because hes fucking the economy
Finally LOL at https://www.nbcnews.com/news/latino/...gal-rcna200722
Trump thought it'd be a great idea to deport all them illegal farm workers, until the price of everything went up
If you want to know how dirty China is in business then listen to the congressional hearing a few days ago. Kevin O'Leary, has extensive business experience with the Chinese. He makes his opening statement at 18:30:

Cash btw
its hard to see how this ends without a lehman moment followed by people being unable to get cash out of atms / cash paychecks / make payroll for a few weeks.
Apple’s market value had fallen more than the capitalization of Walmart.
This is where the at $1 million dollar donation to the inauguration ceremony by Cook came in handy. Little access. A light lunch with a Trump. All good.
You would be better than I at tracking down the crazy action in the $200 Apple calls hours before the exemptions announcement. I just don’t have the energy to be appalled by the grift like I used to. Is it my depression? idk. Nevertheless it could prove amusing to yourself or others.
You can go all ham on Trump and this crew of billionaires but you can never walk this diminished trust back. It’ll be a thing in future administrations too… without all the backlash. Remember giving actual fucks about Pelosi trades? Now you can download an app to track congressional trades. It’s been normalized.
sigh, democracy.
Shut it down, Chinaman, er, Gordman. You're defeated. Now get back to sucking Xi's dick. The defeatism by you and the other PFA libtards is astounding. Xi and the EU owns you cucks.
Good to see your sticking with the fellow cults.
That channel is literally owned and run by Falun Gong you fucking moron. It’s a death cult. That and the Epoch Times are their main ways to influence gullible morons like yourself too unsophisticated to separate propaganda from reality.
God your idiocy is boundless.
So why are we trying everything to destroy China, even at the risk of destroying ourselves in the process?
As of now China hasn't been successfully infiltrated and therefore can't be controlled from behind the scenes like the USA and Europe.
Even attempts to infiltrate Chinese media have failed.
For that reason the ruling elite have decided to try to prevent China from becoming the world's sole superpower.
The US Govt and corporations will be used for this mission. The costs to America are of no consequence what so ever.
my quick take on china is that they have grifted/stolen from the entire world, mostly us of course, and invested all of that into their infrastructure. so they live in a futuristic paradise world funded largely by IP theft and reverse-IPO scams.
and because the US is a 'law and order' state with transparency and oversight (or used to be, you know, comparatively), we were perm victims but it wasnt a big deal because we also exported culture and were the global reserve currency.
that was the big tradeoff. we didnt need to be a manufacturing hub, we didnt need to have every person who travels abroad swear allegiance to the US military above all else. we didnt need to be china.
somehow, someone got in trumps ear and told him half the story. so now, we get to give up all those fucking advantages so we can have a bunch of fentanyl addicted maga retards show up to work 12 hour shifts in chip plants despite the fact that musk himself couldnt get a single good days work out of anyone willing to work for him at his solar plant in buffalo.
its all so tiresome.
Xi holds the golden share, 1% ownership. So he has the final say on whether the sale goes thru or not. Xi owns 1% golden share in every Chinese company doing business in the world....and 1% golden share in every American owned company in China. Xi can negate any and all business decisions made by these companies. And he can dictate decisions to all these companies.
Xi rules the communist and libtard roosts.
All hail Xi!
The news bites say China has appointed a new trade negotiator. What the libtard articles don't tell you is that their old trade negotiator was an MF'er, well known as a hard ass, in the trade negotiations in Trump's first term.
They brought in a softer trade negotiator. Trump wins again.

/GC is basically a crystal ball for those with eyes that can fucking look at it.
Garret, is this true?
As I keep saying, would have been a great fight in 1978. This tariffs thing, there was a time for it. Just way way too late. Preventative medicine beats the shit out of chemo and addiction medicine.
Union Sundown
Song by Bob Dylan ‧ 1983
Well, my shoes, they come from Singapore
My flashlight's from Taiwan
My tablecloth's from Malaysia
My belt buckle's from the Amazon
You know, this shirt I wear comes from the Philippines
And the car I drive is a Chevrolet
It was put together down in Argentina
By a guy making thirty cents a day
Well, it's sundown on the union
And what's made in the USA
Sure was a good idea
'Til greed got in the way
Well, this silk dress is from Hong Kong
And the pearls are from Japan
Well, the dog collar's from India
And the flower pot's from Pakistan
All the furniture it said 'Made in Brazil'
Where a woman, she slaved for sure
Bringing home thirty cents a day to a family of twelve
You know, that's a lot of money to her
Well, it's sundown on the union
And what's made in the USA
Sure was a good idea
'Til greed got in the way
Well, you know lots of people are complaining that there is no work
I say, "Why you say that for
When nothing you got is US made?"
They don't make nothing here no more
You know, capitalism is above the law
I say, "It don't count 'less it sells"
When it costs too much to build it at home
You just build it cheaper someplace else
Well, it's sundown on the union
And what's made in the USA
Sure was a good idea
'Til greed got in the way
Well, the job that you used to have
They gave it to somebody down in El Salvador
The unions are big business, friend
And they're going out like a dinosaur
But they used to grow food in Kansas
Now they grow it on the moon and eat it raw
I can see the day coming when even your home garden
Is gonna be against the law
Well, it's sundown on the union
And what's made in the USA
Sure was a good idea
'Til greed got in the way
Democracy don't rule the world
You better get that in your head
This world is ruled by violence
But I guess that's better left unsaid
From Broadway to the Milky Way
That's a lot of territory indeed
And a man's gonna do what he has to do
When he's got a hungry mouth to feed
Well, it' sundown on the union
And what's made in the USA
Sure was a good idea
'Til greed got in the way
Fat boy says what?
The Post Pandemic Bubble will get a second wind.
Remembah Silicon Valley Bank getting squeezed for liquidity and forced to sell their Treasuries at a loss?
If Fed promises to redeem treasuries at full face value even if redeemed early then banks can go nuts holding Treasuries and that can be a form of QE. They can play the role of buyers when no one else is interested. Let’s change the bank regs Dimon is saying.Quote:
Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan Chase, has been vocal about the need for reform in banking regulations, arguing that the current system is overly bureaucratic and stifles credit availability. He believes that excessive regulations have pushed financial activities into private markets and hindered the banking industry's ability to operate efficiently.
Or the Fed can just skip the games and do QE themselves without the charade.
Contrary to Mickey’s theory that the 90 day tariff pause was all part of the long strategy to bully then Art of the Deal. Rather it was the White House soiling themselves over bond yields rising sharply. (I refer you to the “Seven Leg Parlay”).
If we can get another leg down in stocks and/or bonds that would be the trigger I need to long my ass off if that happens. Watch TLT
Hello QE my old friend. I’ve come to talk with you again.
Putting a hit on Jerome Powell is amateur economists looking for a scapegoat instead of honoring the markets’ feedback.
Profit from the mayhem
I’ll take a peek at this later but I think we need to filter this through the lens of war. Sure there will be discomfort. War does that.
We have declared war and shit talk them and they accept our message.
What I always bear in mind is that the Chinese are culturally and mentally built different than us. We don’t wanna give up DoorDash or Netflix else stimi. The Chinese were living in sod huts with no electricity and an outhouse a generation ago. Their capacity or notion of hard times and “can do” is nothing like ours.
War, economic or otherwise, is not seen as problematic
@BCR
My Dylan game is really weak. “A Complete Unknown” makes me want to be a better man in this regard.
I never even heard this title before.
I’ll check it out
That Bill Burr bit was amazing. Bill Burr for president. Lewfather actually put me on him. This is similar to me not knowing Dylan catalog I guess.
I just thought they gave out Bill Burr mixtapes at the gas station in Massachusetts?
I know you know better, but I feel like I have heard commentary lately like it’s a NAFTA thing or whatever. That certainly didn’t help, but half my neighborhood got wiped out over steel in 1977. Like our neighborhood 10 on 10 football games got cut in half overnight and kids parents were getting divorced. The problem was well earlier than the publics consciousness about it. That he wrote it in 83 is why I shared it in addition to it being topical. It was that prevalent already then. Even people old enough to know better have poor memories.
A few of my favorite Bill clips. Also the infamous Philly rant.
