Im glad you wrote this as I've been telling Druff for years that the libtards have been the problem on this board and he just doesnt believe me. Now more members are coming forward and saying the exaact same thing. Maybe Druff will take action now and save PFA.

It’s really very simple. In DR’s mind, if you are conservative politically and you express that regularly here you are a “good poster.” If you’re liberal politically and you express your views regularly, you are a “shit poster” that’s destroying the site along with Druff’s reputation.

For whatever reason, he simply can’t see past that. His entire worldview is framed though the lens of people’s politics.

Relatively speaking, I haven’t been around here long. (2016) I was never really what anyone would consider a “regular” poster. I was mostly a lurker and a regular radio listener. This site, along with radio, was an immeasurable help to me during peak COVID lockdown, as I was out of both my regular job and my side hustle, (slot AP) and I lived in an area with absolutely draconian lockdown policies. I would call into radio regularly and Druff, Vintage One, tradershky and I would have some great conversations about some really interesting topics.

Now, radio is much more sporadic and usually unannounced ahead of time. Druff can correct me if I’m wrong but I think that’s possibly part of the problem here. Back in the day it was known that radio was going to happen at fairly regular intervals, and it was the one time that a lot of the community came together at once, even if was just to listen. Now, as I said, it’s unannounced and I think the call-in feature has been disabled anyway. I much prefer listening to it live than I do listening in the arCHives, even if it’s the middle of the night where I am. I would purposely alter my sleep schedule to make sure I caught it.

As for BCR, I disagree with him politically more than I agree, and yet I consider him one of the all-time great posters on this site. His posts are insightful, well-written, easy to digest, and you know *exactly* where he stands when you’re done reading them. He is a thoughtful guy and that shows through in his writing style.

It’s unfortunate that he got sucked into the personal war of words with Mickey in recent months. I can’t speak for him but I suspect that has a lot to do with his decision to step back. I would definitely consider Mickey the initial aggressor there but BCR gave it right back when he maybe just should have just put him on ignore. Whatever… it’s all water under the bridge now.

In closing, I definitely agree with the overwhelming sentiment here that DR’s continued presence on this forum will chase other good posters away. I’m definitely growing tired of having to constantly weed through his BS to get to whatever thought-provoking discussions still occur here. DR has shown nothing but disrespect and condescension for Druff through this whole thing. (Some “friend” he is…) I understand that he and Druff are real-life friends and I have no doubt that his IRL persona is probably very different than his online one… that’s irrelevant here though.

1) Do nothing, and let those who don't like him put him on ignore

2) Put some kind of restriction on his account to decrease his posting/thread creation
-or-
3) Ban him

Those are really the only 3 choices.

If you recall, I did a form of #2 a little while back, when he was bumping too many threads. I created a bump limit for everyone which was unlikely to affect normal posters, but held back desertrunner (and anyone else) from over-bumping old threads.

While there was some skepticism at the time, it definitely worked. desertrunner has bumped far fewer threads (because the software won't allow it), and yet it had little other impact on the site. It also brings the positive of disallowing people bumping 18 threads when they're drunk or whatever -- something I then had to clean up and hated doing.

If I were to put on another restriction, it would be specifically aimed at desertrunner, where he would be limited to X number of posts/threads per day, and even per week as well. Right now I am leaning toward implementing that solution, as it's a middle ground between #1 and #3.
