Interesting story about the plight of Luol Deng: http://www.latimes.com/sports/lakers...210-story.html
Yeah. Real weird. I mean this kind of stuff happens a lot, except normally they just fake an injury and the dude just sits at home until his contract runs out (a la Steve Nash). I guess Deng is going through the motions because he thinks/hopes he is going to play again when this runs out, and he wants to show he is a good locker room guy and can add value that way.
Watching the Laker game. Thomas actually looks pretty good. Lakers play real fast and it seems to be a good style for him (so far).
I always knew he was a douchebag, but man Blake Griffin is really seems like a piece of garbage.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...y-lawsuit.html
According to his baby mama he ditched his wedding to hook up with one of the Kardashian sluts, then ditched his daughters birthday to spend more time with the slut, and is stiffing the mother of his 2 kids and is completely ignoring them.
I am sure she has her own issues, but hard to see any scenario that wouldn't have one come to the conclusion that Blake Griffin is just a bad human being.
You can never fully believe one side of a lawsuit filed, as it's always exaggerated to make that side look angelic and the other side look demonic.
However, I mostly agree with you. It does seem like Griffin abandoned this chick to fuck around with Kendall Jenner, and completely went back on his promises to basically act as a married couple and support his two kids with her.
He's already fucked when it comes to child support. There's no getting out of that one, and the support will probably be pretty high, given Blake's salary and the fact that they initially led a high-dollar lifestyle when the family was together. This is a bit different than an NBA player just knocking up some random slut, where he has to support the kid but not necessarily provide it a rich lifestyle.
I do think most of the claims in the lawsuit are probably either true or mostly true.
HOWEVER...
There is no palimony law in California, so she's probably fucked on that front. It's clear that they had a serious relationship for years and two children together, but there doesn't seem to be proof that he promised to support her at a high-dollar lifestyle for life. She may claim he said that, and he may have said that, but proving that is a different story.
Furthermore, I was a bit put off by the fact that he DID want to marry her, but she balked because he wanted a prenup. Unless the prenup was especially stingy, Blake definitely had a right to demand that, especially given his very high salary.
It sounds like Blake is a piece of shit who doesn't care much about his kids or the woman he spent years with, but it also sounds like she was a massive gold digger and wanted rights to half his $, and wasn't going to marry him unless she had that. So my sympathy drops for her somewhat.
I thought cali was a state that if you got a divorce it was 50/50 split of assets no matter what...
Druff missing those sweet Lakers unders.
LA fail, Rondo & Isaiah Thomas. What a trifecta
From the moment Rondo stepped on the court against IT he trashed talked him and rode him about the ridiculous Celtics tribute video for IT.
They both eventually got tossed and Lakers got smoked.
Love you Rondo, you genius weirdo
6 teams with 18 wins.
What a race to the bottom.
Season is a little over 2/3 done. Lets review the season total NBA bets I made and how they stand. A lot of these were just tailing Bill Simmons who tends to do good on these, although this is not shaping up to be one of his better years.
Hornets O42.5 (almost a lock L)
Bulls U22 (Lock L, they have been horrible most of the year, but they went on this weird streak in the middle of the year where they went something like 8-2 and played very well. Probably too well, which is why they dumped Mirotic for nothing and have been holding out Dunn for no reason, so they could rack up a few more L's)
Pacers O31.5 (Lock W)
Wolves U48.5 (Lock L). This bet I was just following Bill Simmons. I think he thought this team would be really dysfunctional with too many egos and guys wanting to shoot, but it hasn't been the case at all.
Jazz O41 (Leaning W) They are right around pace to hit this, but I heard they have a super easy schedule coming up with a lot of games against tanking teams.
Heat O44 (Probably L). Seems like this team has been overachieving and is starting to come down to earth. I haven't checked, this may come down to how many games they get against teams that are straight tanking. Simmons also assumed at some point in the season they would make a trade to seriously upgrade their team, and I don't think Wade is going to move the needle much at this point in his career.
Kings O28 (L). Not sure what Simmons was thinking here.
Raptors O48.5 (W)
So I have 2 lock W, 4 Lock L's and 2 up in the air.
I think going 3-5 or 4-4 is reasonable, which kind of sucks, but it is what it is.
I have probably been following him for 7 years, and I would say he wins most years. Enough to beat the juice (which is generally very high on season prop bets)? Probably not.
Also, in fairness he makes opinions on every team and I cherry picked 8, so for all I know he is having a good year and I just did a bad job of choosing which teams to tail him.
dem quicken loans could be getting more expensive...jesus this is fucking nuts...
lol 50M for Tristan/hill/JR...and I think hill is a decent player, but fuck 19 a year...
