Jack Wagner is best known nowadays as a veteran of a ton of '80s and '90s soap operas.
However, before all of that, he was a singer, and scored this one hit in 1984, which rose to #2 on the Billboard charts in early 1985:

This was actually a good song, albeit a bit derivative of Chicago's music.
Wagner might have had a different career if this song had hit #1, but he was unfortunate enough to run into Madonna's "Like A Virgin", which kept Wagner from the coveted #1 spot. For whatever reason, he never got anything going after that, and all further albums flopped. As was perhaps a self-effacing nod to his own failures in music since All I Need, his album in 1987 was entitled, "Don't Quit Your Day Job", presumably referring to the fact that he had found much more success in acting by that point.
"All I Need" was also not expected to be a hit, so no music video for it was ever recorded, despite the song's high chart performance, and despite the fact that 1984-1985 was near the peak of MTV's popularity. That might have been the biggest factor hindering Wagner's music career, as MTV recognition was hugely important in the mid-80s.
Speaking of 1987, he had a one night stand with a woman in Florida, and then got a call one night nine months later, with the woman telling him that he had gotten her pregnant, and she was giving up the baby for adoption. Wagner claims he tried to gain custody via his attorney, but failed. (I believe this was probably a half-hearted attempt, at best, though.) The girl did a DNA test in 2011 and tracked down both biological parents, eventually showing up at one of Wagner's concerts and coming into his dressing room. At first he thought she was just a groupie, but she quickly revealed she was his daughter, and they went on the talk show circuit after that.
