YOU ARE ALL HUGE NERDS PLZ STOP
The answer regarding vaccinations? I'll fire you off a green rep, I fully agree with your answer. Didn't feel the need to reply.
Listen man, politics are interesting. It's borderline addictive to chat about. If what I said came across as an insult it wasn't intended. It's just what I see in this thread. I avoid these threads because they are a time sink and once invested you can crush hundreds of hours and get nowhere. I also love to eat nibs, once I have 1 I'll have the entire bag but it's without value. I still do it.
I found the accusations of the anti vaccination position to be a left one interesting so I asked if that was really a left wing position. If so that would be fucking scary because I believe there's a solid base on the right that are anti vaccinations and that's a belief nobody wants gaining momentum.
A free an open society depends, in part, on the free exchange of ideas. Some of the ideas exchanged will be utterly ridiculous. Where you go wrong is in pretending that the ridiculous ideas of a few professors represents the mainstream left, and and your false equivalence between that and climate change denial, which is a requirement for any national figure in the Republican Party despite the overwhelming scientific consensus. Once again, they aren't even remotely the same thing.
i doubt it will change anyone’s mind if this comes to pass, because once people choose a side they generally stick with it, and don’t worry about reality contradicting their opinion, but I am guessing we will soon know with some certainty that the (most likely inflammatory) processes that cause autism start in utero, and your fate is set way before you have your first vaccine shot.
I agree regarding autism. Just had round 2 of vaccinations with my son. I tried to do some research and understand the anti vaccination side but it was challenging. I felt a responsibility to consider there is some plausibility with an open mind. I couldn't get through a single article because they always lacked data or were so poorly written.
So far my son doesn't seem retarded or autistic, fingers are crossed.
I have a PHD in a biology related field and still work in that field. My expertise is in a pretty esoteric subject and not anything that will come up in this thread, not that it would matter anyways.
If I said I was an expert in a subject and what I said on said topic conflicted with anyone’s preconceived notions on said subject, they would just say I was wrong and an idiot anyways. That is how the internet works.
The fact that I am closer to higher education than the average person peobably also explains why I am so concerned about things going On there. My understanding is that Canada is much worse than the US about leftists forcing their agenda through legislation, and if I was Canadian I would be worried about such legislation being passed, even if normal people just chuckle at it.
PHD in female reproduction FTW
LOL... Not even close to accurate, but that's standard for you apparantly. I only started busting his balls when he started whining in our fantasy league.
Why don't you tell everyone here how you agreed to a bet on the board and then tried like a scumbag to change the dynamic of it behind the scenes?
Now kindly get off my jock you whiny bitch. You've been following me around on here like a lost puppy for weeks now. Sorry for hurting your precious feelings. It's all going to be ok.
Omg tellafriend is a scumbag too? I thought he just sucked.
Nice strawman you created.
Republicans aren't against education.
The Republican complaints against higher education surround the left wing indoctrination and the ideological intolerance which exists at most campuses.
This isn't an imaginary bogeyman. I experienced it personally, and this was back in the early 90s when it was far more mild than today.
You can have an issue with the way these institutions conduct themselves without hating higher education itself.
I hate what is going on at colleges nowadays, and it may be even worse in 10+ years, but I still want Benjamin to attend college.
So there you go... a Republican who doesn't hate higher education but is very critical of the environments there.
This board is bound and determined to make me eventually feel bad for tellafriend and I hate that so much.
All I have to look forward to in life is whoahhvicky moving to Las Vegas and hearing stories about vegas1369 meeting her in the hallways of parent teacher conferences when she's there for Tyrone and he's there for Blaise.
Have to admit, Blaise is growing on me.
"Don't believe in climate change" is not an accurate way of putting it, but the left loves to claim this in order to make Republicans look stupid.
Most Republicans believe the climate has changed, but some disagree on the cause -- or at the very least, are not sure of it.
Additionally, some Republicans believe that the consequences of this climate change have been vastly overstated in order to make more of a political impact. Go back to the Al Gore "Inconvenient Truth" days and look at some of the things predicted which didn't come to pass.
If anyone cares, here is an unbiased article regarding the predictions in Al Gore's book (2006) and what had actually been seen 10 years later: https://www.sciencenews.org/article/...nvenient-truth
Cliffs: Some of the book's conclusions were accurate, while others were way off.
One problem is that it has been equated to heresy to dare question any climate change claims or consequence predictions. Bill Nye went on record stating that those publicly questioning climate change should be jailed (and he wasn't joking).
I feel that some on the left are so invested in one point of view that they refuse to accept that they could be partially wrong about some things, even if the actual issue of climate change is real and long-term dangerous. This just gives more ammo to the actual deniers and creates distrust among those who want to believe the scientists but keep seeing that they are closed-minded to anything which tones down their original histrionics.
Here you go Tony, I'll save you the trouble of having to respond...

So pathetic.
Is that the jew broad you dicked down.
Edit: my bad wrong thread.
Tilt much?
Apparently I hit a nerve. You must not be used to that, but you should get used to it.
It would be easy to continue to pick on you right now, but honestly you seem to be suffering enough.
However, I will not let you impugn my integrity. So I will post all of our prior communication with regard to our prior wager which you backed out of and then thanked me for not making a big deal out of. I let you out of the bet and didn't say a word to anyone even though you didn't keep your word. All over $1k lol. Now you try to bring it up to make me look bad bc you are being called out?
You are a joke. I look forward to Seeing how you try to spin your deceit once I post everything tomorrow.
After that, I'm done with you. But Good luck with the child support payments.
The best thing about this thread is that if I want to know what FOX news is pushing, all I have to do is read Druff's posts
This thread really is a cesspool.
