It is understandable that, for this reason alone, DRK supported Trump.

He was railing against illegal immigrants from Mexico and exaggerated the crime they were causing. While it's understandable that this made you hate Trump, it's also understandable that others, who aren't Mexican, just saw Trump as attempting to take a stand against illegal immigration.
I didn't vote for Trump and don't like him.
However, barring super extreme circumstances (basically someone like a modern-day Hitler), ending friendships based upon politics is a very bad idea, and I suggest you revisit your decision.
I am someone with a mixture of conservative, liberal, and middle-of-the-road friends, and it does not bother me in the slightest that the liberal ones vote differently than I do.
