Game of Meh

I just can't anymore with this show. Not ten minutes before the show started I posted the map of the walkers vs Jon Snow. Now they get stuck on the ice island. Gendry rows his boat to the wall. The wall sends a raven. Danny hops on a dragon and heads north and does so in what seems like 12-18 hours.

I mean we knew this type of writing was coming because of the 7 episode season but cut the shit. I'm pot committed but you can make an arguement this show has gone Sons of Anarchy worse than Sons of Anarchy could dream of.

fwiw the professional reviews are coming in and they are not great and they are all hammering the time issues as if with one voice.


not only the in-world impossibilities and blank spots but the fact that all this is happening because they need to compress so many substantial events into 52 minutes that linear physics just collapse.

isnt that right ghost, daario naharis, greyworm, theon, whatever they renamed asha, and bran.

but even at its worst, i mean, goddamned... a fucking zombie ice bear just went full revenant on the red priest.

also the rumor is the hbo hackers are deliberately spamming the plot of the last season all over the internet. so yeah try to walk between those raindrops i guess but make your peace with the alternative, i suggest.

Take the 3 minutes and watch the producers talk about the episode of you haven't done so already. They basically admit up front to the premise they are forced to get Jon up and back and get Danny to see what's really going on.... and they know it's ridiculous to handle in 30 minutes.... so what is the least ridiculous way to accomplish this.

GOT might be my favorite show of all time but i generally hated this last episode except for a few scenes.

don't like the arya/sansa storyline as i don't see why arya would view sansa as this evil figure. this tension seems way too forced imo.

hated losing a dragon cause i'm a bitch

the one part i really liked was the end between jon and daenerys, where he agrees to bend the knee.

also jon banging his aunt seems very possible which is a nice touch

I don't mind the time issues that much. It always been a problem, even from the beginning. Some people take a season to travel the King's road, some do it in a episode.

The Winterfell stuff is so forced. Add in the fact that Bran could explain the truth to his sisters at any moment makes it worse. I assume they are setting up a dramatic death for littlefinger.

I'll add that the Uncle Benjen save was super dumb, too. Popping in to save the day was worth an eye roll.

Fuck it, reading all the negativity in these posts and being surprised about them makes me happy that i mustve finally turned. Enjoyed it, way over giving a fuck about time nittery and yawn benjen.

season finale might get leaked in the next day or two. im guessing it will be garbage quality but given that someone will be fucking stupid enough to download it and discuss it in this thread without spoiler tags, it will likely get watched.

because of hbo's incompetence with letting their programming get leaked, I've been deliberately avoiding this thread until immediately after the episode is aired on Sunday.

it's also fucked with my YouTube watching as YouTube constantly suggests that I watched leaked footage which are somehow up for days before HBO removes them. even if you don't watch the clips, you'll get a sense of what's coming by the description. so yeah HBO is really fucking up here
