Watched Birdman last night...7/10.
Great acting, great filming but I grew weary of the 'single-shot' feeling.
I know that the degree of difficulty for that film was off the charts but I'm not a film aficionado and don't really have much appreciation for stuff like that.
Of the Oscar movies from his year that I've seen I would go Whiplash, Grand Budapest Hotel, Birdman and Boyhood in order.
Suspect reviewer here IMO. You saw American Simper twice in how long a period and you rate The Interview as a 6?
It sorta tells what you like in entertainment which is to say you don't understand comedy that well but sure as hell like to see stuff blowing up real good.
I thought The Interview was quite funny, in the dumb guys screwing around genre, and that's all it was ever supposed to be. Killing time is what movies are all about anyways, unless you're watching a doc to learn something in particular.
Late to the party but just finished Birdman and holy shit did I think it was good. Great acting, script and shot really top notch. I grew up on Keaton so it was nice to see him shine again. I knew like 10 minutes in to this flick that I was already going to enjoy it.

my wife hooked me up with this last night was so easy and watched both movies with zero issues
Children underground
Documentary about Romanian Street children that sleep in a train station in Bucharest , huff paint, fight, steal and roam around without any support at all. Pretty depressing but a decent watch. On Netflix now
Generation Iron came on to Netflix..
If your into lifting it is a decent watch, overall was a let down tho
Did anyone go see Focus this weekend?
If so how was it?
Cannot find that shit anywhere online obv
I watched John Wick last night. Great action sequences and a unique take on the revenge genre.
Here's the problem with the hunger games as a whole. They can have a three hour long movie with J-Law fucking the red head who plays the Tyrell girl on Game of Thrones for 2 hours and 45 more minutes of blowing shit up. No matter what they do the last 15 minutes of dialogue is going to be based on a girls pre teen novel. There just ain't no way out of that quagmire.
If you are into the Revenge genre, check out Blue Ruin. Saw it on Netflix streaming awhile back and was pleasantly surprised. Revenge movies need rage and uneasiness, this definitely hits on both. Dont wanna add much more.

The 30 for 30 "Of Miracles and Men" was great. It was the tale of Soviet hockey from its start to when Slava Fetisov was allowed to play in the NHL. Great sports/politics documentary.
Edge of tomorrow, live die repeat...Tom cruise at his best...good action, acting and showed a humorous side.5/5.
The dawn of the planet of the apes, better then the first one 4/5 and Frankenstein vs. The mummy..Sucked!! 1/5
Was watching Lock Stock last night for the first time in years. The poker scene at the beginning is so funny, they're playing some weird hybrid version of three card brag I think.

THE BORROWERS..a western horror flick..4/5 surprisingly good..
eye opening

Wow Ironman has really let himself go. Fat as hell.
"The marrow" scary as all check..from ifc midnight films. Also "stake land" from ifc midnight. Very entertaining..they will cost you 6.99 a pop.
Foxcatcher is on Netflix dvd. I enjoyed. Steve Carell played a crazy rich person well. story of how money madness and power affects the rich and not so rich. Obv based on true events.
Watched Unbroken. Pretty incredible story. The lead dude is also the lead dude in Starred Up. Pretty interesting and hard to tell the entire time, but it's true. 7/10
Focus, dvd copy

I went old school tonight..saw "corvette summer" !! :-)
Anyone have a copy of Unfinished Business by any chance?
Documentary about Stones Throw Records. Hip hop heads know the score. Its on netflix right now.
Reno 911! Miami
About like the TV show.
Finally saw Boyhood, as I tend to see movies at least 2-3 months after the hype fades.
Enjoyed it until the last hour or so when the kid becomes an insufferable faggot like Krypt.
Enjoyed seeing Ethan Hawke circa Training Day age throughout.
I felt weird watching the kids age throughout. Felt a bit too personal.
Surprised that Linklater casted his own daughter. She went through a massive ugly stage in the middle of the movie. Must be weird for your childhood/development to be filmed for all to see.
Just saw American Sniper. I thought Bradley Cooper was great but overall the movie really sucked.
Poor man's Hurt Locker
Just finished Night Crawler
Jake kills it in this movie. Renee Russo is good as is the other mec but his performance is oscar worthy no doubt. Worth watching
My sister in law is from Wilmington, DE. Her friend married into the DuPont family.
You could tell he was inbred the second you met him. Creepy.
If you were a Ted fan like myself,
a 'million ways to die in the west' is a huge let down. I only got like 1/2 way then quit.
The one time I laughed was in the commercial of course when the ice fell on that guy.

best movie so far of awards was Whiplash. I was hesitant to watch a band fag movie but it was excellent.
Birdman was made for rich Jew Hollywood types bleh he should have jumped at the beginning and spared us this pretentious Jew bullshit.
