Finally looked at a map. Your pics gave me the impression you were somewhere much further south in the middle of nowhere Baja. Saw no signs of civilization.
Ensenada is only 60 mi from US/Mexican border. Lotta people in states make that kind of commute to work each day.
Looks like a pretty big and and populace city with a lot of cruise ship activity, wineries and all that touristy stuff.
