Dana let kos off the hook last night, said that he (kos) wouldn't be cut, nor did he feel that kos should retire.

Pat Militich calling it the worst judging in the history of the UFC is going way overboard.
In my opinion people watching it in real time thinking about who won over the 5 rounds thought JH won, but if you break it down by rounds like the judges have to then its not a big deal either way. Whoever won the 1st won the fight and the first was close.
You know what? Im glad Kos isnt getting cut, and not just because I absolutely adore watching him get blasted. Hes a talented fighter and has a lot to offer to the division.
Plus I get to watch him get blasted on more.
This....
I think the thing I find most frustrating with MMA fans and fighters is that they seem to lack any objectivity or understanding for judging in their sport. Its like having to speak to 6 year olds. The level of ignorance is astounding given how knowledgeable these people are in other areas.
The sad thing is that people will complain about this match for corrupt judging, Hendricks inability to finish GSP, fight metric stats being misleading, etc etc. The true problem is 10 point must system scoring where it is nearly impossible to get a 10-8 round. All this shit could be avoided if they revamped the scoring system (which is the problem not anything else). But people will continue to waste time talking about inconsequential things when they are starring right in the face of the real problem....
Its not like this discussion is even new. This has been going on for years and years in UFC. Using a system that was designed for 12 round boxing matches is stupid on so many levels.
You're dead on. I like the idea of moving to a more Pride-like system where the fight is scored as a whole and not on a 10 point must system. I also think that they need to have retired mma fighters and mma trainers judging not ex-boxing judges and people who have no real connection to mma as a sport.
The reason that the bad judging decisions keep eliciting the reactions that they do is because it seemingly always happens in main or co-main events. It also seems to be in a title match when the champion has possibly lost. Very rare to see overtly horrible decisions on the Facebook prelims.
This could never happen. In theory it sounds good, but these guys cross train so much they would have personal connections good or bad with too many fighters. Then when they score a round wrong or at least what the majority perceives as wrong the match fixing allegatations start.
According to a new report from TMZ, UFC Fighter Georges St-Pierre will be taking an unspecified leave of absence from the UFC. We know UFC players don’t take leaves without good reason, and George is certainly no exception to that.
The rumors first started circulating when Georges reportedly made a ‘cryptic remark’ after his win on Saturday against Johny Hendricks. He reportedly told Joe Rogan that he needs to ‘step away‘ from the UFC for a while to deal with ‘personal issues‘, and it seems like these personal issues included an unplanned pregnancy and a family illness.
The report claims that Georges’ father is dying, and it has affected Georges very deeply, as it would anybody. However, Georges has reportedly also gotten a woman pregnant, but he reportedly doesn’t want the baby while the mother is insisting on keeping it. Will he try to convince her to get rid of it?
Whatever it is, he’s clearly not dealing with all these issues well. He was heard telling Joe on Saturday, “I’m going crazy. I have issues, man. I need to relax. I need to get out for a while. I don’t know what I’m going to do.”
Experts say his performance in the ring has also been suffering, although he’s still maintained a certain standard of quality to his fights. However, professional athletes know how easy it is to get burned out, especially when you’re trying to combine the volatile mix of your career and your personal issues. If Georges doesn’t take a break, it might end up becoming too much for him in the end – so he’s definitely making the smart decision to step back for a little bit.
I'm not sure why Dana White was totally caught off guard. Anybody who watches Showdown Joe on SportsNet in Canada knew there was going to be an announcement of some substance after the fight & was told to make sure you watched the post-fight in-cage interview.
I'm pretty sure he thought he would win convincingly then announce he was vacating the title so Rory MacDonald could fight for the title because he also thought he would win convincingly. I think he would step away & take care of some personal shit like he said & then fight Silva, if he beat Weidman, in a super-fight late next year, make a fuckwhack of money & then retire with his legacy firmly intact.
You could tell he was torn about making that announcement, probably because everything didn't go down the way he planned, & Joe Rogan knew there was an announcement planned & coaxed it out of him.
Just my 2 cents.
GSP's camp had said some big announcement was coming before the fight.
A member also tweeted that GSP was quite literally losing his mind. Couldnt sleep, so on.
Safe to say some bitch problems are in the mix too but the TMZ article seems a bit unfounded.
We really bringing TMZ articles into this? Are you a fucking quiff?
Also, superfights are dead. They will NEVER happen.
At first I was going to argue on the side of superfights but one I really thought about it, I think youre right. When you have 2 people in a position to deliver an actual superfight, the chances are neither of them wants to fight at a different weight class / catch weight in order to do so, for very obvious reasons that have been done to death and are perfectly valid.
