curry breaks his left hand tonight...
let the tanking begin...
that would be interesting...think they're gonna have to wait until after dec. 15 to trade him because they just traded for him(??)...I could be wrong about that...
the chatter is that the t'wolves would be looking to upgrade their PG spot, so paul was talked about for them...also Miami, but don't know if there's enough salary there to match up...if de'angelo came on the market that would be an interesting little kink in the old trade machine...you know riley isn't afraid to make a big splash like that...trying to figure out what they'd send to GS...guessing it would be dragic's expiring, justice (??), and another player (doubt they'd give up bam) plus a pick or two...
BTW blake, if your boys want to lock up that over 54.5 in 55 games that'd be fucking great...
start spending that money.
the only thing that can derail your bet is health, though even if embiid misses time, they can run horford at the 5 and still have a really good lineup. even their bench has looked improved. thybulle's defense is insane and he's even knocking down 3's. the celtics made a rare error in letting us get him. even korkmaz looked really good last night, aggressive and somehow playing tough d
i don't get why anyone thinks the bucks could lose brogdon -- who is now shredding the league in indiana -- without missing a beat. i think the sixers are the best team in the east by miles. their defense is better than any team we've seen since the bad boy piston era
it was legit comical watching the then-undefeated t-wolves try to run a small ball lineup against the biggest ream in the league last night
of course embiid and possibly simmons are about to get suspended so that will hurt.
yeah I think they're too deep unless shit reaaaaaally starts to go to shit health-wise I don't see them coming up short...the fact that their D is that good helps a shitton...your shooting goes cold for a few games during the season, if you can lock down on D and maybe steal a few of those games you should lose is big for an over bettor...and it helps that the east is complete fucking AIDS at the bottom half...
don't get me started on thybulle…im a Cs fan, that one fucking hurts...
anytime you lose a 50-40-90 guy that's gonna hurt...but I was watching the Cs-bucks game last night...Giannis airballed two straight FTs, so yeah that's a little concerning come may/june...kid is an extremely hard worker from what I read, but when you start airballing FTs that's more mental than physical and unless he can somehow flush that from his mind in the next 6 months that's gonna be a HUGE problem...
It's early, but the Nuggets look bad.
They should have taken out Portland last year in the playoffs - I figured they were a year away.
Jokic is fatter and they now seem to hate one another.
Hopefully it's a blip (as Jokic is delightful when he's on) but tough seeing them as a contender.
Yeah I watched them last night. They don’t look good at all. It’s early but agree on Jokic looking out of shape. They’re a poorly constructed team, which many teams are now with the contract structures. I really thought Harris would become a more complete player a few years ago. Jokic is an excellent facilitator, but they lack really efficient second options. They’re one of those teams with a few guys who would be excellent 4th best players on a contender, but not a true second option. They remind me of the Bucks in that regard. Teams you can see are going to spin their wheels and just lack something. I think both those teams are in for a regression this year from the early indications.
Murray is really inconsistent and having a slow start, but when he is on he is a great offensive player. For all we know he will go in a 10 game heater and they go 8-2 and all this convo will seem silly in retrospect.
Knicks are horrible. They just got stomped on at home by shitty Sacramento.
Now 1-6.
Lakers looked good tonight against the Spurs, but I'm having a hard time believing they are going to stay consistent. Somehow they're 5-1 but it sure as hell doesn't feel like it. I kind of feel like this season will alternate between games where they look great, and ones where they look thin and mediocre. With that said, there isn't a super dominant looking team this year, so maybe it really will be a Clippers/Lakers Conference final.
Also somehow Dwight Howard has been way better than I expected.
this is pure fucking gold...I think if you had to name a player that this could happen to, waiters island would probably be up there...

The Miami Heat have suspended guard Dion Waiters 10 games without pay for conduct detrimental to the team after an incident on the team charter on Thursday. It is Waiters' second suspension of the season.
Waiters experienced a "panic attack" on the team's flight from Phoenix to Los Angeles after consuming a THC-infused edible, sources told ESPN's Brian Windhorst and Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Heat declined to comment on the incident Saturday but announced the suspension Sunday.
"We are very disappointed in Dion's actions this season that include the very scary situation on Thursday night, and grateful that the outcome wasn't worse," the Heat said in a statement.
"There have been a number of instances this season in which Dion has engaged in conduct detrimental to the team. ... We are proud of how our players have started the season. We expect all of our players, including Dion, to conduct themselves in accordance with the highest standards, and to show professionalism and respect for their teammates, the team, the fans and the NBA community."
The suspension began on Friday, the team said. Waiters was listed as out for the game against the Los Angeles Lakers because of illness and did not attend the game.
Waiters had already lost his spot in the Heat's rotation because two rookie guards -- Tyler Herro and Kendrick Nunn -- have had strong starts to the season.
Waiters missed the game in Phoenix because of a stomachache and was seeking relief when he took an edible he was unfamiliar with, sources said. League rules prohibit the use of THC, one of the main compounds in cannabis.
The suspension will be costly for Waiters.
The Heat suspended him for their season opener last month, also for conduct detrimental to the team, after he expressed frustration on social media about his role on the team. He has been on the active list for only two of the Heat's nine games thus far but has yet to dress and sit on the bench for a game.
He also missed time during the preseason for what the team labeled personal reasons.
Waiters will lose out on a $1.2 million contract bonus because of the missed games. He would have needed to play in 70 of Miami's 73 remaining games to claim the bonus.
Waiters is owed $25 million over this season and next as part of a deal he signed with the Heat in 2017.
How bad of a thing did this guy really do if his own team leaks the weed gummy story? My guess is that he killed a stewardess.
You'd think with the endless panic attack pot brownie stories out there, people with no experience with them would exercise a bit more caution.
Been there, Dion.
Took a very small amount (5 mg) before a flight from Portland to San Francisco. Was a last minute business trip and I was in the middle seat on a smallish flight.
:baddecision
I dont even know if the weed was a trigger but was definitely the only variable in play that could have caused it.
5 mg is such a small amount, too. A plane has to rate high for absolute.worst places to have a panic attack. I have maybe 1 per year but this one took the prize.
With all their rookies contributing and the team playing well they really don't need the Waiters headache this year.
I guess they have to pay him, but should definitely exile him from the team and maybe use his salary to make salaries match in a trade down the line.
Since LeBron left, Miami really has done a commendable job of remaining a stable and completely average team, unlike Cleveland both times he left.
I guess you can argue that is not necessarily a good thing when it comes to building a championship team, but they are hitting on their mid-first round picks better than almost everyone lately.
Portland is trash. I hate Hassan Whiteside more than any player in recent memory.
Good year to splurge on lower level season tix..
im really glad I didn't get a chance to put more down on the lakers under...
they're fucking trying which I wasn't expecting...
We learned last year that Lebron couldn't do it by himself anymore. As long as Lebron + AD can stay healthy then maybe something will happen.
They need some better 3 point shooting if they want to win the Championship. Danny Green is one but they need one more at least.
AD is already dinged up so I got that going for me...
wasn't expecting much more outta these guys than 65 games played...as far as I know they haven't had any rest days yet...so if they don't start sitting soon im in trouble...at least I got the inflated 54.5 so I have a little wiggle room...51.5, that seems like fuck city right now...
chatter is that they're gonna get iggy somehow...wont help their shooting, but would give them a nice starting 5...gotta think that there's gonna be some 3 point shooting that comes online in the buyout market...
I can tell you from watching the Lakers so far that they're not as good as their record shows. They've looked very inconsistent, and just aren't dominating games. They have won by more than 9 points only twice.
The team is still thin, though Dwight Howard has been better than expected, so that has helped.
This is a playoff team for sure (finally), and there is no dominant team in the NBA this year, so I wouldn't count them out for a title. But I wouldn't say that the dominant Lakers of yesterday are back. At least not yet.
Interestingly, getting Lebron is what led to getting AD, so that's some extra value they got out of the huge Lebron contract. Of course, AD may leave, but Lebron might be the reason the stays around (plus players just like playing in LA).
Two things.
First of all, Lakers are 16-2, but it's the least dominating 16-2 I've ever seen. They are winning so many of these games via comebacks or close margins.
Second, Kyrie just posted this:
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EKbpzgwW...jpg&name=large
Nothing about dinosaurs. Boston was brutal tonight. Makes you proud
However...
The guy is mentally ill. He’s getting worse it appears. I think most people will chill out on Kyrie.
Boston didn’t get fucked up by him. The Nets are okay without him.
Adam Silver is pretty sensitive to this kind of thing and will help with PR. I bet he amazes.
I didn’t watch the Celtics.
I watched almost all of the Lakers Pelicans. It was a great game. I sat there wishing they were all like that. I have watched very little NBA these past 2 years.
Whoever the announcers were (there was a Van Gundy) they spent a great deal of time discussing the declining viewership and load management. Last year’s All Stars have appeared in roughly 200 of the last 300 games.
I was really impressed how bold the announcers were in their criticism.
LeBron playing on the West Coast is offered as a contributing factor. Too late for ROW to watch.
A reduced regular season and new playoff format is being discussed these past few days. I guess it’s serious now
aight at the quarter pole so see where my bill simmons inspired bets are at:
LOOKIN' GOOD BILLY RAY
Golden State U 47.5 +100...4-18...on pace for 15 wins...I mean whatever I've been fucked by injuries before so nice to have one go my way...be nice to take this one to the window by February...
New York Knicks U 27.5 -122...4-17...on pace for 15 wins...was good to see the drama bomb a few weeks ago with their GM having a press conference after a game basically throwing their coach under a bus...same ol' sorry ass fucking knicks...
Miami to win the Southeast -118...6 games up in the division after 19 games...biggest regret was not firing on these guys to go over 43.4/44.5...I love spo and just had a fucking huge brain fart that jimmy butler would be able to be "the guy" on a 45 win team...
FEELIN' OK LOUIS
Philly O 54.5 -110...15-6...on pace for 59 wins...started to get a little nervous when they lost 5 of 7 at the tail end of their west coast trip, but they've since reeled off 8 of 9 and are still undefeated at home...they stay healthy should be fine...
Houston O 53.5 -139...13-6...on pace for 56 wins...this was the bet that I loved the most...barring injury russ/harden will both play 75+ games and russ will treat a random ass game in the middle of February in charlotte as game 7 of the finals...these guys were built to romp through the regular season...
Washington U 27.5 -150...6-12...on pace for 27 wins...hoping the dog days of February and march will really start to put the hammer down on this one...
WHAT THE FUCK?
Charlotte U 23.5 -110...8-14...on pace for 30 wins...I still look at this roster and wonder how the hell im so far behind on this bet...they're fucking paying like $16-18M to bismack biyambo to be their fucking BACKUP CENTER!!!
BEYOND WHAT THE FUCK
LA Lakers U 54.5 -115...17-3...on pace for 70 wins...suffice it to say I didn't see this coming at all...LeBron has played all 20 games, brow has played 19...both are averaging 35 minutes a game...I thought they might play somewhere in the mid/high 60s...I guess they don't see any need to load manage either guy...figured by this point passive aggressive LeBron would be in full force being pissed off at their shitty supporting cast, but when you win 17 of 20 that really doesn't come to light...im just glad this was only a half unit bet...
Saw my Bucks bet won tonight so catching up on Bucks-Knicks.
The Knicks..my god. It's astounding that they still have a fanbase after 20 years of Dolan.
This guy could sell the team for more than 4 billion, btw.
Just a completely aimless franchise with bad young players, wayward vets and absolutely zero identity.
I think they are the actual worst-run franchise in all of major pro sports in the past 20 years.
It's not like this is some small-market team which has to scrape by with what it can afford. This is a huge market organization which has just made every dumb move possible, and wasted gobs of money, year after year.
The Lakers were actually starting to head into that territory, but they grabbed Lebron and then backed into getting Davis because Lebron was there, and suddenly they're a championship contender again.
But the Knicks... Lord knows when they will finally do something right.
Lakers only lost 1 game in November. But they also only played 2 teams that weren’t crap and went 1-1 in those games (Dallas, Toronto). This month they already lost to Dallas at home and have 8 more games against good teams, including a long road trip. This could get ugly real fast.
So I think I'm about done with Frontier as a TV provider.
Was bad enough that they don't carry the Dodgers (though very few do, aside from the owner of the TV rights, Spectrum, due to a long-running dispute).
Now they don't carry the Lakers, either. This has been season-long. I just haven't mentioned it unti now. If I want to see the Clippers, I still can.
Now that the Lakers are worth watching again, it sucks that I can't see them unless it's a nationally televised game. Spectrum carries both the Lakers and Dodgers.
Frontier also has notoriously horrendous customer service, to where even Spectrum's flawed customer service looks great by comparison. Anyway, I keep getting all these great offers to switch, and I've resisted simply because it's a pain in the ass. But I think it's time to pull the trigger.
Who fucking gives a shit
also todge get spectrum its great and you can todge them down so unless you need dvrs like ur 57 you can get them to just let you use the app on ur roku tv cuz you obviously have roku and instead of like 280 a month its like 170 and you can pick the channels
but yea spectrum fires
Also what kind of idiot has frontier cable
Frontier Cable doesn't offer the Dodger games?! Thought they did
twc channel 787 you idiot
