The only edge I give Boston so far is their deeper bench & historic closer, Uehara.
As players like Salty and Middlebrooks underperformed Farrell has been able to make worthy substitions and still have cards (no pun) to play.
When it's this close, that may be enough.
Ain't no lock though. No one has solved Wacha.
Fun to watch close games. It's unfortunate that in a playoff and championship dominated by pitching no one in Fox's booth knows enough or has the energy to discuss what they are seeing pitch to pitch. They suck.
The obligatory "Eck is god". TBS was way better than FOX.
Every pitch that gets hit mccarver describes as a mistake
mike matheny has been making all the wrong moves
we are playing 23 men against 25 (miller is on the back of milk cartons and mujica can't be trusted)
a third of our lineup right now is a guaranteed out
pretty frustrating cause i don't believe i've seen a more talented cardinal roster in my lifetime
That Home run Gomes hit changed the entire series. I was thinking why would they put this bum behind Big Papi it really makes no sense. Then he closes his eyes and swings and makes contact with the ball the first time all series and it goes out of the park. It reminds me why baseball sucks so much, and why 2 horrible football teams playing a regular season game get better ratings then a world series game.
Record prices for Game 6 tickets
http://espn.go.com/boston/mlb/story/...ouis-cardinals
As of Wednesday morning, the average list price on the resale market for a ticket to Wednesday night's game was $2,056, according to TiqIQ, a ticket tracking company. That's an 11.48 percent increase from Tuesday morning's prices.
The cost just to get into the game? That's at $1,047, up 19.25 percent from Tuesday.
Ticket prices are now equivalent to last year's Super Bowl tickets, which had an average resale price of $2,199 and a "get-in" price of $1,062.
Bleacher seats to the game, which could have been had for $300 last week, were selling for $1,100 on Tuesday.
On Monday night, someone who wanted two of the best seats in the house paid $24,000 on StubHub for a pair of tickets in the first row in a dugout box between home plate and one of the on-deck circles.
Listening to talk about contracts. Kershaw 7yr 270m. Ellsbury 100-140m. Lackey 5yr 100m. Amazing cash in baseball.
The craziest part to the ticket prices is unlike the Superbowl, you might get to sell more tickets for more money the next day.
The fact that Boston shuts down everything every time an important game is going on is really grinding my gears. No parking after 4 pm anywhere that is a normal road from the Boston garden to fenway park. This place really sucks sometimes.
Positive money on Wacha tonight for all those who think the kid is unstoppable lets see how he does in this big of a moment. He might do good but I predict the Red Sox will take care of business tonight.
Agreed!

Baseball - MLB (Game) Moneyline
Best of Seven (2-3-2) Boston leads Series 3-2
MLB WORLD SERIES
(962) Boston Red Sox -117* Oct 30/13@07:05p
Competitor: (961) St. Louis Cardinals
* Odds and win amount may not be the same as at time of placement, if a pitcher change takes place.
".... This big of a moment". I wouldn't factor that idea into your pick. There ARE others though.
Kid has a plus plus delivery. Never drops his pitching shoulder during delivery. Beautiful thing. He stands 6'6" and this helps enormously.
Only has two pitches: Fastball & change up. He almost never throws the curve. It's inconsistent.
But here's the thing. The easy comment is that he might fold to the pressure of Fenway & the big stage cause he's so young. Kid has known nothing but success his whole life. College stud. College World Series starter. Zip thru the minors. He's binked a win over Sox already.
I love fading the "big stage" logic with young players who haven't been slapped around yet. Kid has pitched many many big games (in his mind, even if it was AAU - they were big to him). Young & dumb is a plus.
Trust me. He feels good about life. Think Boegarts at 21 - he's playing great. He's cocky but likeable. Trusts his talent still. Think of your boy Iggy - he was fearless & .400 with us. Love that shit.
An older player has tasted defeat. Knows what it feels like. Fears going there again. Think of yourself & poker. Lol.
Bill James & the wonks who work for the Sox may have great scouting now though. Hmmm.
The trend is your friend. Sox still ain't hitting & haven't hit Wacha yet. However, now Ortiz will not get a hit - that's new. (If someone pitches to Ortiz, Methany's plane ticket gets cancelled).
Should be a great take tonight.
We will see in a while but the game is a 3 million dollar play for Stu. ROFL (yeah right).

who will be the starting pitchers for game 7
I hope mccarver lands in the hospital before the game
he is the worst ever, i watched the games that he was
in the broadcast booth muted
#anybodybutmccarver
Anything goes game 7. How can they set a line?
It'll be wild if it happens
The timing on these hits are on point for Boston.
the red sox are an amazing team and I still think they beat a 100% healthy st louis .but the series would be much different. go sox !!!!
SL was solid up and down. Def weren't healthy which was obv but that's part of the game.
IMO they need a little more pop. The order up and down is pretty solid and they get on base but more pop is needed IMO
