Interestingly, another potential Biden replacement had a very similar career trajectory to Kamala's.
Gavin Newsom didn't suck Willie's dick to get where he is, but he did kiss a lot of Willie Brown ass. Like Kamala, he was appointed to a position by Brown (Parking and Traffic Commission) to where he had no qualifications, back in the '90s. Like Kamala, Brown's influence allowed him to rise through the political ranks in California. Like Kamala, he was an incompetent phony who failed at everything he did (including his current position as governor). Like Kamala, his goal is to be President.
Oh... and guess what? Kamala is such a piece of shit that she basically doesn't talk to Willie Brown anymore. He complained about this 4 years ago. Once she rose in profile and his diminished, she felt she didn't need him anymore, so she basically ignored him. Brown was annoyed by this, but at the same time, he realized he basically had a political whore in the mid-90s, so what could he really expect?

I do agree with you about Obama. He was a very talented speaker and politician. However, he wasn't very good at governing. And when I say "not good at governing", I don't mean that he was pushing positions I don't like (which is also true). He just wasn't an effective leader, and wasn't good at managing those beneath him. There was a term going around the White House, where he was derisively called "No Drama Obama". On the surface, "no drama" would be a compliment, but it was the opposite in this case. The knock was that he refused to listen to internal concern or criticism about any of his cabinet appointees, and would let everything go to shit rather than confront a problem before it became big. Remember the $560 million Obamacare website which embarrassingly didn't work? There were warning signs about that forever, and Obama refused to listen to his own people begging him to step in and investigate what was going on.
I will say a few positive things about Obama. He was intelligent. He wasn't corrupt. Obviously he wasn't senile. He didn't mean badly. He knew Biden was a dolt. However, he was also quite arrogant, not good at leading, and ultimately didn't accomplish very much.
