what disturbs me the most about this thread is that Brandon is a self admitted bad internet-er. so for him to pull this info on lew he had to have had Todd's help to track him down the way he did. I'm not on either side but i do think Brandon is kind of a scummy person in general and lew is, just, drunk lew.

Not read the unedited version of the thread but the ban seems a little harsh.

I know he was walking a tightrope but this feels like the BS 3 strike rule.

Brandon's name is not a secret. In fact, we make it public on the radio.

I did not edit the name because lew posted it, and that's also not why lew was banned.

The name was posted gratuitously and repeatedly for SEO purposes. The horse isn't out of the barn in that situation. It takes time for SEO tactics to work.

Even the official site rules state that you cannot post full names gratuitously for SEO purposes.

With hutmaster, the concern wasn't SEO stuff, and if it was, I would have redacted things for him (I still will do this if he wants).

The only value in editing/deleting the stuff posted about Hut would have been to keep people from finding out where he worked, but that was impossible because everyone already saw by the time I got to it. Furthermore, as Marty also worked there, and was posting about his experiences there, he was also posting his own info, which IS allowed. I have never made a rule regarding posting your own workplace info if it happens to match that of someone else who works there.

Now, had Marty worked there and simply posted the info just to expose it, then I would have deleted the thread, even after-the-fact. However, Hut was the one who started the topic, and Hut was the one who revealed Marty worked for him, along with a lot of unflattering (albeit likely mostly true) accusations against Marty.

Obviously Marty had a right to defend himself, and it was unreasonable at that point to tell him that he can't name the city where he worked, post Yelp reviews, or anything else which he could argue was relevant in defending himself.

Bottom line is that this was a VERY unique situation, and one that isn't ever likely to come up again on PFA.

With that said, I did remove a pic of Hut posted yesterday which he requested privately I take down. There was a woman in the pic with him who didn't want her pic out there as part of this mess, and I respected that, so I removed it and stated it can't be posted again.

The problem I have is you didn't shut down that other thread & edit out info that should never have been allowed to be posted in the first place. Your explanation for why you didn't edit it out in the other thread looks absolutely retarded now considering what you did here.

Actual real pictures of a poster were posted without his consent, his business was targeted & easily outed by info posted in that thread & it could very well affect his business in a very negative way going forward & you did nothing. Absolutely nothing except ask more questions about the guys business that had nothing to do with the dispute, other than some guy decided to bring it up, instead of locking the thread for an hour & editing that info out.

You'd have to be an absolute fucking idiot to think Tyde's attack on his business or the Yelp reviews have any relevance on that dispute. I'm sorry for saying this, but you gotta be stupid to think this.

Huts thread was to show he went above & beyond to help a supposed friend & how he felt betrayed, Tyde's response thread was made to hurt the guys business. It's not like hut contacted the ship or mother & tried to fuck with his life outside the forum. How you see that this has anything to do with a guys business is beyond me.

was hut who decided to bring a real life dispute with fucking jewdonk of all people into the forums he even posted a pic of him asleep in his car he was well aware what was going to happen next and obv thought fuck it lets bring the hits

if it was the other way round and tyde had made their issues public and posted the info he did without any provocation then 100% im sure todd would have deleted huts info but as it happened dont see much of a problem with how it went down
