It's brilliant misdirection and showmanship by both Ford and Trump. Trump was talking about Ford Fusion and other small car production being moved from Michigan to Mexico. And being a lying sack of shit, Trump spent all of October telling everyone that he had gotten the move canceled, and even bragged about Ford building a brand new factory in the US. Ford confirmed a few weeks ago that that move is still 100% happening and no new factories are being built.
Ford is now using Trump to make headlines about keeping Lincoln SUV production in Kentucky, and Trump is taking full credit and pretending like this is what he was talking about the whole time. The actual reason that Ford can't close that Kentucky factory is because of their UAW union contract.

Yeahhhh I mean, Im a long way from faith here, and this feels like the quiet before a fearful and godless storm, but I never expected _any_ sort of positive response from the markets, and a lot of people expected us to go from 0 to Great Depression by now, so I'm not completely discouraged.
