Anyway, can someone with the new Seals software tell us what traffic they are seeing?
The swcpoker webpage shows:
156 users online, 28 players, 33 tables
That's impossible, as there can't be more open tables than players, unless they don't count a player twice when he opens 2 tables.
I don't have the software installed, but if you have it, please tell us what you see.
Yes, that's exactly what they do. My guess is that their admin module has a binary ' Yes/No" counter associated with each player record, and that it is this which is what they would be using. This btw is how the old PM Operated. This actually may provide an interesting insight into the amount of control they have over the system,as follows: it's clearly to their advantage to show as large a number of players as possible, so it's reasonable to assume they would would multi-count players if they could. However, this necessitates communication between the web client and the underlying admin module. If the vendor of the system they are using did not integrate this capability from the gitgo, they would have to do it themselves. While, of course, we don't know how granular their access to the underlying source is, but even assuming they have the source and the rights to mod it as they choose, it would still require some
programming to build in a real-time counter. So we might conclude that they either don't have full control over the system, or they don't have the resources to do non-essential work, or of course, they're just clueless about stuff like this. (The latter is certainly a possibility when you see the crappy way their FAQ is set up - the rake explanation for example. But they did always have that IKEA style when attempting to use the English language, so who knows?)
