That is a number a Harvard scientist guessed at but ONLY if no action to stop the spread was taken, period. So basically fantasy, that's all goodnight go to bed.

6 dead if you extrapolate with other countries equals maybe 300 or 400.

it does seem high for a country that embraced proper first-responder protection protocols fast and early. that has not been the case here. when the trump administration sent people to meet the exfiltrated cruise ship passengers as they got off their planes, for example, none of them were wearing protective gear.
also 6 dead seems like a low number but a) our first death was like 36 hours ago or something and b) if you dont diagnose a death specifically as coronavirus, it goes down in the books as 'flu', so honestly there might have been more deaths before it.
bottom line, taking the under on 50k isnt as attractive as it might seem.

Like most Americans who get Coronavirus I am not going to the doctor unless whatever I have becomes serious. If it stays light, I will just do what I normally do when I get sick plus have more awareness around not making those around me sick.

If you are relatively healthy, I think the play might be to catch it early, recover and get a bunch of antibodies. If you catch it when everyone has it you risk reinfection in that two week period while your body builds antibodies and you are just dead.

People have to work and it just isn't that bad for most. So it is going to spread all around. 6 deaths is a very high number given the number of cases we have in the wild in the US. I believe most of those come from that nursing home in Washington. Thats really what this is, something that will kill older folks. Those are the people who need to worry. Look at the demographics of who dies and so forth, you really need to be 60+ or have a known underlying health condition to worry about this thing. 80+ are the people who need to seriously be concerned.Quote:

Anyone laughing about 40-70% of the people receiving this will be saying that until they actually know they're sick. However, they'll likely never know if they had corona because it will likely pass. I am ok with holing up for a few months but my girlfriend has all this ridiculous shit she likes to attend. lol
