honestly i know how crazy this sounds but i think trump is somehow going to litigate himself a 2nd term still.

tl;dr no ones really tried to do it before, so there are probably gaps in the legal process that he can exploit.

I was apprehensive about this, but I saw a few different constitutional lawyers go through every worst case legal scenario possible, and the craziest series of improbable wins on the right still left us with a President Pelosi worst case. So I slept better knowing they’d never be about that life and would stop short if it ever got there.

you know... bush/cheney just kept on digging until they found one constitutional scholar who argued that anything the president does is, by definition, legal.

a few months later they were trotting out doctored evidence to congress to justify a war in iraq.

and they got their war, and no one faced charges.

not saying trump is a favorite on the books or anything but you know, i for one wont be surprised at all if he ends up getting sworn in again this winter.

The difference is that Bush had the country's best rightwing constitutional lawyers. So much so that 3 of them are on the Supreme Court.

Trump is going with lawyers that are special in other ways.
