It wasn't Bush's fault either.
The recession started in 2000 when Clinton was still president. The dot com bubble finally started to correct itself. When the current bull market corrects itself it won't be Trump's fault, or Obama's either. Maybe Trump does something monumentally stupid and triggers it, but the correction was coming anyway.
Job numbers, good or bad, are a lagging indicator and have a little but not a lot to do with the president. These are too early to be a credit to Trump though.
The war on drugs is remarkably similar to the war on terror.
