It is amazing to me how many Democrats support violent rioting. Even those who publicly claim to want "peaceful protest" quietly cheer on rioting, violence, and destruction when they're among friendly parties behind closed doors.
The excuse is always that they are "fighting against oppression" and that "sometimes violence is necessary to overthrow a fascist system when nothing else works".
They really believe this.
It's very hard to reason with these people, as they yo-yo between "violence is awful" and "violence is acceptable to fight an oppressive system", and you can't nail them down on any position.
You should see some of the Facebook and Twitter conversations I've had about this. My favorite is when I ask leftists to directly state that violent protest is bad, and that anyone caught doing it should be aggressively prosecuted. They short circuit when I ask them to state that.
