* I would watch the games using the college internet feed
* I would religiously watch the college coaches weekly broadcasts on both sides. On radio or internet. The revealing and honest shit they would say was amazingly useful. Big time coaches making millions were more reserved, of course. These guys were talking to the students, parents and alumni... or so they thought.
* I would follow the players twitter
This merits deeper explanation. Couple of years ago, players twitter was more candid. There had yet to be repercussions from saying stupid shit.
The stuff the kids would say about their activities. Like, to the moment, you knew who was doing what.
This is where I made my cash. I had a kid in school. I coached his friends who went to other schools. I knew their friends.
Kids would talk shit about the other teams at their school. The baseball kids were jealous of the attention the football kids got, for instance. Their takes were incredible. Shit they wouldn’t even say on Twitter.
No one ever knew I was using this as actionable intel. A golden window.
