Micon is turning into the poker version of George Jung. In the end will be in prison and even his daughter won't visit.

Assuming that Micon is still an American and not a legal resident of Antigua, how long can Micon visit Antigua before he is required to leave?

JESUS CHRIST HIS VIDEOS ARE FUCKING PRICELESS
Oops, I withdrew to Coinbase.
I merged the two threads.
I have little comment about this right now.
I believe that many in the thread have this mostly figured out, anyway.
I will just point out that Micon registering a domain in October doesn't mean much. He registers a lot of domains that he thinks might be useful one day (or he wants to prevent others from grabbing and squatting).
In fact, he grabbed dandruffpoker.com (on my behalf, a long time ago) without even asking me. I was actually happy about this when an asshole cybersquatted toddwitteles.com and probably would have grabbed dandruffpoker.com if Micon hadn't already gotten it. dandruffpoker.com stayed in Micon's possession until I left DD, and then he transferred it to me as part of our separation agreement.
Anyway, my point is that you shouldn't read anything into the October 2014 date.
Found this browsing, WUT?

I admit I was speculating wildly with the October 2014 point SwCPoker.com registration. Just threw it out there...but, yeah, Druff, pretty much like any decent lawyer points out that this doesn't prove ANYTHING about any kind of forethought actions in regard to "having an out" back in October. Now I'm gonna suggest reading between the lines a bit again: If there wasn't a pre-plan, then...
My only question is how often will drexel be able to see his child with them all the way in Antigua?
LOL, typical Micon. Dangling the carrot well. But where's the substance? Possibly much will be revealed in #storytime
Does anyone have that radio show where Micon and Druff were admonishing VWLs because she fucked up and they were her boss...etc? That told me all I needed to know about Micon running a business. Druff too but Druff wasn't nearly as rude or clueless as Micon.
They walked away because they didnt want to go to prison or have to hide out on some random island.
Also, they probably realized the run was at an end. Once these big poker sites take on bitcoin, it is game over for Seals or any of its spawns.
Looks as if Micon is programming the new site himself: swcpoker.eu
So the clever side of seals were the ones doing the coding, looking after the money, and keeping their names well away from the spotlight; and then there's Micon, who is pretty much the opposite of all those things.
WTF is Martha doing in this coup? I mean she must surely know how much of a fuck up Micon is at doing / running anything. OK so the kid lucked into a goldmine by getting into BTC early, and then doubling down as the corporate face of SWC with an ownership piece running an illegal poker site.
Why on earth did she not tell him to quit while ahead and just live the easy life from now on - which lets face it is Micon's USP.
I would like to see the math... Based on how long seals has been running for, the average player volume and tables, it should be possible to get a ballpark of the income from a site that that.
Everyone is just assuming Micon made a lot of money from it. This may be true. But I think people could be off by a lot. He obviously had partners and expenses.
Would love to know who the other partners were that decided to pull the plug. Did a really good job running the site. Going to be interesting to see how Micon does running the site with his new cronies. As to why Micon didn't quit while he was ahead, I would guess it is because he didn't want to pay taxes on all those bitcoins so the move to antigua is pretty logical. He probably had no other options beckoning him so continuing to run the site unimpeded from offshore was an attractive option.
The road to business success: Micon style
1) Get a nice little business venture going with a small group of partners
2) Build it up to a good size, cash flowing in
3) Runs for a few years, good momentum, loyal following, everyone's happy
4) Worker bees in the background take care of things, don't need to pay them much though
5) Micon's the chairman - no one can get in his way
6) Events take a turn for the worst
7) Fall out with partners
8) I CREATED THIS, DON'T FUCKING FORGET THAT
9) No problem - I can run this show on my own, who needs those other fuckwits anyway
10) Business 2.0 will be up an running in no time, just you watch
11) All my loyal followers will be right behind me ready to jump back on board
12) No, honestly, it's coming and will be bigger and better than before
13) Fuck, there's only me now, I've got to do some work. Fuck. Fuck! Fuck!!
14) Business 2.0 launches 2 years late
15) :tumbleweed
Who was Micon close to that had deep pockets? Obviously someone in the poker world also that helped him put seals together. The legal sites in nj were a disaster. If poker becomes a thing and legalized whoever ran seals should have input into the legalized sites as did so many things right with the seals. Only thing they did wrong was building the site on top of cheap software.
SWC existed before Micon was involved. He was plugging it on radio to start with so got to know the owners. I don't think just the software was cheap - everything was cheap. Let's face it, the marketing budget was probably stretched with those $200/month ads on DD radio. The mavens software is $500 all in and the API code needed was hardly complex.
Why does every thread in here degenerate into a hu battle vs garret? Awesome derail though. I never knew Micon got to know the owners of seals after the fact. I always thought seals was Micons baby. Nice useful tidbit ty.
jacosta, you'll have your 10k view thread by tomorrow. Congrats.
Daaaaaaamn.

Holy shit...
edit: most of my questions were just answered.
Honestly j'adore Micon in a lot of ways but his whole line about 'omg police state vs creativity' is just potheaded stupidity and kinda shows that hes basically learned nothing from this experience, which should have been _enormously_ educational.
Im reasonably sure that he continues to not take this seriously and does something unfortunate like fly in for a family funeral and end up getting charged with 7-10 on conspiracy, wire fraud, god knows what.
Bryan Micon should be fine, you cant hate a "kid with a dream".
Poker is a very intellectual game, and played even at law schools for charity. I went to Rutgers-Newark and a now pro Alex Rocha friend used to come play. I saw law professors and students playing. Maybe thats different but I understand socio-economically how poker actually could "bridge" barriers. And that really got me interested.
Alex Rocha final tabled the WSOP $2,500 8 Game last summer that Phil Ivey won. No donk.
There seems to be a weird trend for the last 2-3 years or so where people get busted, get their shit confiscated, do NOT get charged, then suddenly out of the blue they nabbed at an airport or a traffic stop weeks/months later and find out they have federal warrants.
