Not amazing and certainly over fluffed but it's still better than 99% of the shit that's produced.

not the movie but just this trailer. Looks good.
You tube their lectures..for Alex watch the original interview from the late 80,s..as a poker player you will know he's telling the truth..his later lectures suck..as for David icks there all pretty informative..
Anyone have a good copy of the new Mark Wahlberg The Gambler? appreciated if so. And if anyone is feeling frisky and wants a 5er on ACR for it more power to ya
Movie is a huge piece of shit. Cool concept, but terrible execution. Only go see this move if you're into movies like Twilight. The entire movie is rushed and just stupid. This is not a true sci-fi film. It's a tween movie in disguise of a sci-fi flick. I almost went into a rage each time Eddie Redmayne was on screen, think Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn.
Visually the movie looks good except when you see Channing Tatum stupidly skate across the screen in the air with his anti gravity boots all the time. The dude can use these things to get into space and they act like his pathetic skating super charge his speed or something. Not to mention they are supposedly manipulating gravity so I don't really see how his thrust would improve his speed.
You know it's a terrible movie when I walk out of the theatre and my girlfriend tells me she loved it. She's a huge twilight fan. It's pathetic and sickening.
Anyways, I went into this movie not knowing much about it, but figured it was a 50/50 and my girlfriend wanted to go. If she wasn't there I would have walked out. I strongly considered walking out even though she was with me and just letting her finish the movie while I was at the bar next door. The only reason I didn't do that was I knew I was going out drinking with buddies afterwards and didn't want to give her any reason to give me shit.

DEGENERATION AT IT'S FINEST
Went to see Kingsman: The Secret Service last night and was sorely disappointed.
First the official synopsis.
Based upon the acclaimed comic book, Kingsman: The Secret Service tells the story of a super-secret spy organization that recruits an unrefined but promising street kid into the agency's ultra-competitive training program just as a global threat...
Two of my favorite actors, Michael and Caine and Samuel Jackson are in it so I figure I can't lose but I disregarded the first line of the review. "Based on the acclaimed comic book."
I left comics behind, as one should, when the many alternatives the world has to offer someone past the age of ten begin to present themselves.
Two positives about the movie were the acting of Jackson and "the next big thing" Taron Egerton. Both were great. Caine was Caine but had a relatively small part. Jackson was excellent and was not just the villain but a funny one at that. Egerton, is a better looking Tom Cruise who can act, move over world. The special effects won't dissapoint those who enjoy that form of fantasy.
It turned out to be a James Bond movie on steroids. When one man, trying to save the free world, successfully kills dozens of S. Jackson's human "robots" at high speed mixed with slow motion, I realized I was stuck in a two hour cartoon.
Everything a nerd or someone under 20 could want is in this movie except for the site of a naked woman, so I'm sure this will be right up some or your allys so to speak.
I would have walked out after 2/3 of the show(knowing it was not about to change course) but my companion wasn't as dissapointed as I was.
6/10
Saw the Tom Cruise sci fi movie Edge of Tomorrow on HBO. I don't even remember this movie being in theatres, but I looked up on Wikipedia and seems like it made some decent $$, so I guess it just flew under the radar for me.
Anyways, pretty solid flick. He isn't the star he was, but between this, Oblivion and the lastest MI Cruise is quietly putting out some quality sci fi/action stuff recently.
Zombies of the Stratosphere (1952)
This movie has a great plot. Martians come to Earth to build an H Bomb to blast Earth out of its orbit, then replace it with Mars so Mars can have nicer weather. Lots of action, gunfights, rocketships, even a robot built to rob a bank. However there are no Zombies or any mention of the stratosphere The hero has his own rocket suit to fly around in. Suit actually has an Up and Down switch on it.
Leonard Nimoy is one of the Martians. Its worth a good laugh if you enjoy ridiculing what you are watching.
Originally a 12 part serial.
Here is the main problem with TBL. You ask a friend about TBL and he is a fanboy and says its a top 5 movie of all time.
1The Godfather
2 citizen Kane
3 TBL
4 Raging Bull
5 Gone with the Wind
So you watch it expecting the greatest movie ever..... Turns out it's really not THAT good.
The New Dracula, got it out of red box..it's action not horror..pretty good at least they got the historical context correct..Vladimir was actually a hero..when the other Christian kingdoms were giving the Muslim hordes tributes, Vladimir refused..the Muslims consider negotiations a weaknesses never mind those that paid them tribute..they would use that money to strengthen their army and attack you anyway, unless you then paid even more..the other Christian kingdoms were apologist for the Muslim hordes and gave them what they wanted..the reason why he impaled them was to strike fear in the enemy. He was raised by the Muslims. He's father gave him! Up as tribute when he was a child so he tried to convince the other kingdoms that Muslims aren't to be trusted, it's a culture of deceit which is a badge of honor for them..they only understand strengths through violence...4/5 stars
You guys should try red box, 1.63$ for a new release..p.s treat yourselves and rent fury really good movie 5/5

Long boring weekend at the Searles residence. So we had a movie marathon:
TMNT- actually pretty good movie
Lets Be Cops- funnier than I expected
No Good Deed- meh, was watchable but probably 6/10
The Equalizer- was pretty good. The plot was kind of odd to follow (meaning why the fuck did he get involved? Just bored? And did I miss how he was a fucking badass randomly?)
Rewatched American Sniper again as that movie is bad ass
The Interview- another meh 6/10 good for killing time movie
And probably going to watch Whiplash this evening if I cant find anything worthwhile on TV. Ill let you know
