They're now threatening to kill my power AGAIN.
I've had power for just 1 day (after 54 hours of no power), and they are saying they will "likely" turn it off for as many as 4 days. The wind has died down in the past hour, but that doesn't mean shit. They had my power off when it was completely calm.
I'm going to tilt so hard if they do this again.
In the meantime, I found out my refrigerator, purchased in May 2019, has a 5-year warranty on the compressor and other likely culprit parts causing the issue. Had this occurred before mid-May 2024, the fix would've been free.
I'm trying right now to browbeat the Philippines to make an exception, but so far it's not going well.

Wow I run worse than I thought.
They have a 6 month grace period on the warranty, meaning I was covered until late November 2024!!!
So I missed it by like 7 weeks. I'm trying to beg them to just let it stretch a tiny bit further, but you know how foreign reps are. They're transferring me all over the place. This really sucks. They want $450 to fix it, which obviously ain't happening, as the whole refrigerator was like $1500 new.
We are about to sit down for dinner. We will transition from praying for your families protection from the wildfires to praying for you to get warranty protection on your ice box.

Had to throw away a bunch of food, just like in November. 54 hours was too long, even with the coolers.
You get no notifications when it's going off or coming back on. You're completely in the dark... literally and figuratively. It's a complete joke that they can't at least communicate with the public.
Only three good things to report:
1) Still not near any of the fires.
2) The refrigerator manufacturer backed down and has agreed to send Russians to fix it for free. In fact, the Russians would have been here now, but I cancelled them because there's no power, so obviously no way to diagnose/fix.
3) The big power block I bought last week (4x bigger than the one I already have), projected to arrive 1/16, is actually coming tonight. So I'll have a little extra power this time.

My fridge began leaking a few months ago. I had no idea how old it was, did not remember, I guess 7 years or so. After a week or toweling up water, I just went to Home Depot and bought another one for like $1400 and they removed the old one.
