Agree with you about Trump, but I don't agree about them being afraid to piss off the progressive donors. The packing-the-court thing is the biggest shot Trump has right now to push hard and get people doubtful of a Biden/Harris ticket. It's really the only new weapon in his arsenal. The rest of the scare tactics ("you're going to lose your health insurance", "the police will be defunded", "your taxes will go up", etc) aren't getting the job done.
