If trump and comey were in a private or public meeting and Trump says to comey "let this russia matter go" and comey proceeds investigating the "russia matter" comey is breaking the law by not complying with a executive order?

that being said I listened to some of comey's testimony and found him to be quite believable.

to be fair to trump, comey said trump asked him only to let flynn go, not the whole russian investigation. i'm not saying that's much better though

but to answer your question, no, comey didn't break the law by continuing to investigate flynn. trump's request wasn't a formal "executive order" in the sense you're thinking like the travel ban. this was just a request by comey's boss
