There's plenty of open anti-Semitism seen in prominent Democratic Party figures. Look how influential Ilhan Omar has become, and how the left always makes excuses for her anti-Jewish sentiments.
Now, DeSean Jackson is just a dumb athlete, and not a politician. I get that. However, the cancel mob isn't coming for him, the sensitive left isn't calling for his firing or resignation, and the Eagles are treating it as a teachable moment.
In short, white people who are slightly politically incorrect need to be cancelled, black people who are openly anti-Semitic and praise Hitler just need some sensitivity training.
This isn't just a matter of hypocrisy. It's worse than that. The left has a very rigid narrative which must be followed. Once a victim class is established, the entire membership in that class is canonized as Saints. Even the clear bad actors are excused, usually due to some fault of society which led to them being that way.
The left fears that if they criticize DeSean Jackson, then the pubic might think that everyone is bigoted -- even black people -- and take their identity politics less seriously. It's very important for them to draw very clear lines between the perceived good guys and bad guys, and not complicate the story, which isn't all too different from a bad 1970s action movie.
Even the whole coronavirus/protest thing was an example of this. The left was in the process of shaming right wing reopening protesters, and then the Floyd protests happened, which clearly were dangerous from a coronavirus standpoint. Then there was also the rioting and looting, which sprung from some of the protests.
The left wouldn't condemn any of it. Not the rioting. Not the looting. Not the freeway blocking. Not the arson. Not the mass crowds full of people crammed together without masks. None of it
You see, if you condemn the riots, then you're condemning the black people (and the white liberals) who were doing it, and that kind of detracts from the whole message of Conservative Whitey being the bad guy in the whole situation.
If you condemn the coronavirus danger of the protests, then you're speaking out against the woke protests taking place at all, and you just can't do that, even during a deadly pandemic.
Same with the statue destruction. If you criticize ANY incident of statues being pulled down (even totally 100% unjustified ones), you are risking that people will perceive that wanton statue vandalism might be a bad thing, so you just can't say it.
Hopefully Jews will wake up soon and realize that their Democratic Party now hates them.
