Cotto is waning here but Canelo is keeping him in the fight. I have Canelo 5-4 going into the 11th
JMM I do agree - the British guys calling this fight are awful.

Canelo wins, albeit unimpressive, IMO. Not enough for ppl to go "THIS GUY VS GGG NEEDS TO HAPPEN!".
-160 on the Over Rounds 11.5 was free money
Fuck those scorecards. I'll have to watch the fight again. No way in hell I thought Canelo won it that wide.
Canelo was lazy in the end rounds IMO; he knew he could take Cotto's best shot and conserved energy at the end. He needs more volume if he has any chance vs GGG (which, IMO, he doesn't. But he'll get paid tho).
Compubox #:
I put GGG as a -500 fav vs Canelo *if* they fight at 158
I love Canelo and I couldn't stand how many times he would land an excellent punch then just stand there and let Cotto recover... it's probably smart, I just can't stand it. If that Canelo shows up to fight GGG, he's going to get knocked out.
Ive watched the fight 3 times now and I have the fight 116-112 for Canelo... I can even argue for a 115-113... the right guy won but there is no way he won every round. Boxing scorecards are a fucking joke.
Agree with everything you said here. I thought Canelo deserved to win the fight, but not nearly as wide as those cards suggested. He's gotten a lot of favorable scorecards (Trout, Lara, Cotto) in fights that were close, and then of course the draw on one card in the Mayweather fight. Makes you wonder if anyone (now that Floyd is retired) can beat him on the cards.
I think Canelo is still dealing with his stamina issues. I believe that's why he's not throwing like he should be. With that kind of punch output, there's no way he's beating Triple G. Unless it's goes all 12. Then, who fuckin' knows.
This fight was pretty even but obv Canelo's overwhelming power was the difference. The fight before the main event was badass tho.
Eddy Reynoso, Saul "Canelo" Alvarez's coach,
"Freddie Roach has already polluted [Cotto's mind], because both of them are not saying anything other than they won. Critics at the highest level have said it was a close fight, and I've also said that, but the fight was clearly won by Saul.
He didn't need to win by 40 points. He only needed the three judges to give him the victory. For my taste, he won by 3 to 4 points, but what Freddie has done is contaminated [the thoughts of] Cotto. [Roach] rarely admits defeat and invents things. The correct card was 116-112, because you have to be realistic."
Should be a good fight about to start. Tyson Fury has a decent chance to end Klitschko's career.
Fury was +435 - crazy
I'll be honest, I still don't see anything great about Fury. That twitching movement had Klitschko all fucked up. Klitschko saw what to do, he just wasn't able to do it. Fury moves pretty good and he's awkward. But he was still the same sloppy fighter he's been. Just with better defense.
I think Wilder has a good shot to knock Fury out. And I think Anthony Joshua would box his ears off.
Fury won the fight before he even got in the ring. He had more confidence than Klitschko, and his cocky meta game got inside his head.
I don't agree with that. Wladimir had the same demeanor he's always had. I think it was Fury's size and movement. There were several times Klitschko had to pull his right hand back because couldn't get off. I don't believe in that "winning the fight before the fight" bullshit. Not since Mike Tyson.
Klitschko finally looked old, proving boxing truly is a young man's game. With guys like Wilder, Joseph Parker, Joshua....it might be time for him to hang it up soon if he loses again
Still can smash that bag HARD at 49.

Been a solid night of boxing thus far if you've seen the Crolla v Barroso fight.
But anybody see Khan getting past Alvarez tonight?
Bookies don't like his chances and either do I.. Just too heavy, but if he can take it to points .......
Hopefully I'm wrong.
I was all set to head over to Gallo's estate to watch the Canelo fight, but he shocked me and isnt even watching tonight.
His logic was sound. Canelo should win big, and it wont be worth his time watching, and if Canelo should lose, he will never watch one of his fights again.
