What Sonatine said about masks. And outdoors you really have to work hard to get it. The basic immune system of most somewhat healthy individuals can deal with a small viral load. It's getting bombarded indoors that fucks people over. Or shared ventilation and few other things.
In the context of Europe, Spaniards, Italians and French are pretty fucking handsy with questionable limits on personal space. The Finns started social distancing shortly after the ice age.
Greeks are pretty close to other Southern-Europeans. They just took it really seriously from the start and fared really well.
I have no idea where i'm going with this besides that there are national, ethnic and geographical differences,
but there are things you can do that still have an impact. Now how well the general public responses to the guidelines given from "above" you also have some differences.
