This isn't going to happen. The Hebrew Hammer after consultation with Finklestein has already set precedent and ruled in Moneymaker vs. Young that one being freerolled in initial bet has no obligation to settle outside claims by pursuant parties. It's case law at this point.

cla contacted me on 01/12 which was after the first two games of last weekend were played regarding my posts going off on him which is solely based on the information anyone on the forum can gather. I was simply looking at past situations in my analysis that I've seen on various forums including PFA with what I posted and hate to see anyone get screwed on this forum. He claimed I was killing his action for the upcoming week with my posts and that I have no idea what I'm talking about. He said he will pay and I will see.

In the PM's cla also stated he was screwed too which it's hard to feel sorry for him given he is well aware of badguy's reputation yet taking action anyways which I called him out saying why would he take action from badguy unless he was freerolling himself because it don't make any sense. If cla does pay what he owes then the ball is in badguy's court to pay cla like he says he would. Their shouldn't be a forward of debts from one person to another because then we never know if cla had the money he was betting in the first place which is a really big deal and I believe most people understand why that is.

I agreed to not post anymore in the threads "IF" he paid up which he hasn't yet. This frustrates me despite the fact imo users that bet with him were taking a risk in doing so without knowing the guys reputation BUT if an escrow was to be used they might have felt safer.

The problem with paypal is anyone can be charged back so inevitably the person who is used for the escrow (Druff, vegas, or whoever) is at risk of being charged back and then having to either eat the loss themselves or pray the winner of the bet will return the money to them since anyone whose a scammer will obviously flee the scene. The escrowed person might be able to charge back the winner if they don't return the money but it really creates a cluster fuck with paypal when they do a review and could ban their account for it.

As for some others taking bets from a guy like this please try to use better judgement in the future. Even if a guy he will escrow it don't mean the bet is always safe and if it don't appear like "x" amount of hours before the game to the person who you use to escrow then it should be deemed as no action.

cla has until radio show time Tuesday night to pay up or I'm going to snapshot copy and paste the pm he sent me regarding this and I will do my reply as well.

One thing I told cla is that he was showing bad practice in contacting users and wasn't truthful about his paypal being up when he said it was then after another party agrees to bet with him he can't use it. That is irresponsible of cla at the very least to not confirm he can use paypal before saying he could and shoots off a red flag right away to me.

If someone comes on the forum BEGGING for action and is hanging around the forum all day long then all the sudden when it's time to pay up gives you the run around it's a huge red flag. The person might start pm'ing those who they owe or post in the forums at the beginning trying to save face or buy time potentially to lock up a few last minute bets or I should say "freerolls".

cla PM's to me don't prove a whole lot more then what has been said BUT if he was trying to roll people he clearly cares that I was posting at the time as it may discourage people from giving him action (at least in his eyes). The fact is if he pays on time then others including myself wouldn't have any need to say anything. Perhaps I killed some of this weeks freeroll action "IF" that is what he was doing which at the moment everyone has every right to believe that is the case given the lack of communication and run around he has given everyone.

So were you freerolling cla??? Please say it isn't so and you can do that by paying who you owe saving your reputation somewhat. The longer you take or if you never pay will just prove what a lot of people assumed all along having every right to do so based on your horrible ways of handling the situation.

I'm not 100% sure on this in regards to sending to a friend or "gift" type transactions. I do know it's much more difficult but I believe a scammer can get around that as well.

I think they have changed it to not allow charge back disputes on gift transactions so I guess if someone is able to dispute something through their bank or remove the funds prior to paypal pulling them but after the credit was given to the person they sent it to then that might be the only way.

CLA hasn't IM'd or anything today. Still no signs of payment.

To make matters better they have put the $500 refund from Druff on hold.

I'm sure that will resolve itself but it is another knife in the back.

From the Jasep scam, I learned that once it's sent as a gift you are not allowed to chargeback to the person you sent it to. You can charge it back at your bank or credit card and it will put your account into the negative, but the receiver will never get screwed over on a gift. The only caveat to this, is if you send it and call paypal asap and tell them you sent it incorrectly, but the people receiving it would know you did this.

So word of advice, if you are going to escrow, always make sure it's sent as a gift.

yeah clearly badguy and cla were freerolling each other. I agree with the rest of your post weiss, somehow it made sense for a second that badguy pay off simp to salvage his rep. of course in that case you would still be left unpaid but the bigger issue is the bets were not fully escrowed in the first place so it is really all on cla to make it right and pay, which is most likely never gonna happen.

I think Im the only one who thinks it wasnt a bet since cla didnt escrow. The only reason CLA would owe simp is because he came in the thread and said he would pay him.

I dont get how people think CLA was freerolling when no bets were made without escrow. Im sure he was freerolling from the week before.

I used to do alot of betting on 2+2 before BF and bets were confirmed 2 ways. Either you had to escrow or if you were trusted you could qtb the bet itt. If you had to escrow and you didnt send the funds there was no bet.

I feel like this site is so down that everyone wants a scandal for something to do.

You were both in the exact same boat. The fact that Weiss pulled back his $100 payment once he figured out this guy was most likely freerolling has nothing to do with any of this. Whether or not Weiss was trying to freeroll too is complete conjecture on your part.

FWIW, I have done a lot of transactions with Weiss since my early days on NWP, and have never had a problem. He might be a little bit of a slow payer, but he has always made good on his bets and entry fees for FFB.
