Raw activity is not always a good thing.

For example, I could write AI bots to spam off news stories and poker content here every day. We'd have a lot of new threads, sure. But they'd also be low quality, generic, and annoying, hence I don't do that.

Raw activity is necessary only when the forum is so dead that it needs some kind of new content to make it worth opening for people on a daily basis. PFA is not there, and has never been there. Therefore, I try to stress quality over quantity when it comes to threads and posts on this site.

You're correct about one thing. The reason I post 90s dating stories is indeed to keep this place active. It's my forum, and keeping people engaged is my responsibility. I will sometimes post these personal stories in order to make the site more interesting for the daily posters/readers. Notice I don't post stuff like that on Facebook or Twitter, as I don't care about engagement on those platforms (even Twitter where I'm currently getting paid for views).

Anyway, back to your situation...

I have known most of these characters for a long time, in some form or another. I've never met nor spoken to BCR off the forum, but he's been a very active poster over a long span of time, to where I feel like I do know him. I've had a few off-forum conversations with sonatine, and met him once in 2011, but again, he's someone I feel I mostly know via his forum activity. I have a good feel for these people, and what I can expect from them.

I can assure you that none of them are here to ruin my reputation. Even Sloppy Joe, who is presently my main troll here, isn't looking to be a real-life problem for me.

This forum is really just a group of guys who have been forum acquaintances for a long time, loosely associated through poker and gambling, who enjoy interacting on a daily basis. That's it. In a way, it's kind of like a Facebook group, except without real names attached.

This forum doesn't make money, by design. I run it basically as a hobby. I keep it going in a large part to keep a group together which started 21 years ago. I am not interested in changing or remaking it at this point. There will never be a change in tone, major change in rules, or major shakeup regarding who is allowed here. I try to stay away from banning people, which is why even annoying new users like joe croupier got so many chances before the banhammer ultimately fell.

The big problem I see here is that you have a different idea of what PFA should be, and want to "help" by remaking it. I don't want that. Even if my own mom came to me and said she doesn't like PFA and wants to remake it, I'd tell her to butt out and let me run it my way. That's what I'd tell everyone.

I have defended you many times. I've talked about your loyalty as a friend. I've talked about how you're a different guy in person than on forums (in a good way). I've talked about how, despite all of the controversy you've endured here, you've never once been threatening or harassing toward anyone, and how that's not part of your makeup. I've defended some of your threads you've created, pointing out how they've gotten quality engagement.

At the same time, the overwhelming majority on PFA felt you were dominating the forum, and that a lot of your posts were low quality. Even lurkers hate opening up the forum to see low-effort memes, news story reposting, and Twitter reposts. They want to see interesting original content, and thoughtful discussion. Even the threads I create about current events, I try to include my own original analysis, and very rarely repost memes or Twitter takes in order to get my point across. If I don't feel I have the time to do that, I usually don't create the thread at all.

The bottom line is that I will not allow major disruptions to PFA. If you want to fit in here and go with the flow, I'm happy to have you. If you want to change PFA and make it your idea of "active", it's just going to result in continued restrictions.

Druff is a reasonable person. I think dr has been on better behavior since first ban. I didn't care for the trans thread and pictures but it was clearly labeled so I didn't view it. Take advice and don't bomb post and realize the site doesn't need to be saved by a bombardment of new posts , tone it it down a little more and you will be ok.

Pick some random day in, let's say, June of this year, and compile all the time stamps from his posts. The restriction will not be lifted until I believe he "gets it" regarding what PFA is and isn't. If that never happens, the restriction will be permanent.

It gives me no pleasure to do this, but it had to happen for the good of the forum. If desertrunner still thinks I'm incorrect here, he's welcome to think that (and express it), but I've made my decision.

This board is not private as Google crawls and posts it and things font always come down from here with a request, so its not worth having someone here splash and dox. Thats why.

ADd- This was a sudden wake up call when I recently read here that two members were doxed here. Regardless of the circumstances or lame justifications, this place is a risk.
