Decided to go to the game tonight and get the Hershiser jersey.
Inflation is a real thing with the Dodgers -- both from monetary inflation and team spending inflation. The days of getting excellent regular season seats for under $100/each are over.
I paid $156/each and got a bargain. The seat location is great (I'll post a pic later), but still... that's NLDS type prices... for a promo Saturday night game against Detroit. And guess what? Not only did I get a good deal, but I got the best deal in the entire section. Even people sitting 15 rows behind me are paying more than I am.
The big problem is that the Dodgers have jacked the face value of the tickets WAY up, including for season ticket holders. The person who sold me these tickets lost money.
I love betting the Dodgers. Down 2-1 in second. Mash run line and profit
Hope you had a good time Druff.

DET Tigers @ LA Dodgers
Nightmare getting out of the lot though. I’ll post about that later.
At least they won.
Judge is simply unreal right now. 44 degrees, no problem, homer first AB
The Braves, projected as the #2 best team in MLB, got swept the fuck out in San Diego in a 4-game series.
They scored a whopping 7 runs combined.
Padres right there with the Dodgers now, just 0.5 behind, despite the Dodgers' 5-0 start.
SD will be a scary team again this year. Hope the Dodgers don't get them in the first round. They really need to redo the playoffs to where the best record team faces the worst record one.
So here's my nightmare Dodgers after-game parking story...
(No, I didn't get stabbed by gang members!)
After spending a nice evening at the Stadium where the Dodgers had a 7-3 comeback win, I quickly made it out to my car in lot #2 (general parking). I always position myself right by the exit for the expected final half-inning, so I can jump up and briskly walk to my car. No dawdling, no bathroom, no delay. I was at my car within minutes of the final out.
Usually that means breezing out of the parking lot, and onto the freeway.
Not this time!
For whatever reason, the lot was at a complete standstill. Everyone who had left early in the 8th was still stuck. IT APPEARED NOBODY WAS BEING LET OUT.
Keep in mind that Lot 2 has a direct exit right to Scott Ave. Not a single car was moving out of the lot for 45 minutes!! It wasn't just slow... it was STOPPED.
The Dodger helpline was unHELPful.
When I finally got out and asked security, I got a nonsensical response of, "It's Saturday night... LA traffic... what do you expect?"
It wasn't just LA traffic. Not a single car got out of that lot for 45 minutes, from what I could tell.
Did the city shut down Scott Ave out of Dodger Stadium for 45 min? Did the Dodgers close lot 2's exit in order to calm traffic elsewhere?
On Twitter, a woman in Lot 8 said she had to go all the way around out Academy, and also was stuck in the parking lot an hour.

Upon reading this, I blamed the city of LA more than the Dodgers, believing they might have closed certain roads out of Dodger Stadium, due to unusually heavy traffic in the city.
However, someone else online complained about Friday night having a similar issue:
Quote:
It took forever to get out of Gate D on Friday night. It was a mess and no one moved. I didn't get to Pasadena until well after midnight. Plus, the Maps app is a liar and took us on some weird route through dark empty alleys and streets. We just followed it and laughed at where we were. Sometimes you have to find something to just laugh at.
I've been going to the stadium regularly since 1976 (minus the years I lived in Vegas), and while I've been stuck in some jams getting out, I've never seen it to where it doesn't move at all for 45 minutes, especially when I get quickly out of the stadium moments after the final out.
I might have to stick to the fireworks night games, because those almost everyone stays, and if I position myself right by the exit, I can watch the fireworks and still beat 99% of the stadium to my car.
I wasn't kidding about almost confronting whomever or whatever was holding up the traffic, by the way.
If it was the city, there'd be nothing I could do. If it were the Dodgers staff, I might be able to make some progress.
In 2001, in a semi-similar situation at an LA Airport city-owned lot, I was the only one to demand we be let out after being forced to wait 90 minutes to pay on exit. Everyone else was just going to sit there for hours. Soon after, the city employees backed down and let us out.
I may have overstated the free money aspect lol. We beat good lefties and the Padres starter isn’t a good one, but I didn’t realize how rough a spring Ortiz had. He had decent last outing but sounds like he had a lot of control issues. I’ll keep my bet, but less confident about it than last night.
Gut your Twins can’t hit right now. I almost bet against them today. Should have.
Yankees have torpedo bats, Twins are simply swinging as if they are underwater.
Yankees 15 HR's in 3 games. Twins 18 hits in 4 games.
"Buxton and Correa pulled after 1 turn thru the order for an inadvertent rest day after already being down 9-0 to the Pale Hose" is not something I had on my bingo card.
Nor was those two being 1-25 combined so far.
Torpedo bats, yanks have hit 13 plus homers in first 3 games, judge not using one. Its like using an aluminum bat with huge sweet spot. I remember george brett incident when had homerunn taken away when bill martin said he used too much pine tar.
White Sox actually looked a little better at the end of the 2024 season. They might be a surprise this year, not as a contender, but as hugely improved.
I wonder if the Cardinals believe they're good again. They're about to find out the same way a mediocre poker player finds out when he leaves 1-2 and tries to move up.
"How did Jurickson Profar suddenly have an OPS of .831 at age 31?"

Bad news keeps coming for Braves.
I guess the bad luck extends to former Braves, too.
Freddie Freeman, once an ironman who almost never missed a game, is continuously being dogged by the bad ankle.
On Sunday, when the Dodgers had an unusual off day, Freeman slipped in the shower and aggravated the injury. He's not playing tonight, and the length of his absence is not yet clear.

Dammit the Braves arent doing so good lol
The "torpedo" bats are going to be a problem.
Elly De La Cruz tried one, and went 4/5 with a double and 2 HR.

Yeah it’s funny. Who isn’t ordering them at this point overnight shipping? Pitchers will start bitching. The god Pedro will say they can’t hit it out if they don’t hit it and he is the only guy who can make that statement with his 1.8 ERA during the steroid era when second place was just over a 4 ERA. Good for the game as far as casual interest, but not for purists. Pitchers buying steroids right now. It has to be fucking with their heads. When Jazz Chisholm is taking you deep twice in 34 degree weather.
If they hit like 4 off Corbin Burnes tonight it is going to be a bigger story tmrw
SAN’s ballpark pal gave me the easiest win in the afternoon yesterday(tips cap) with the Royals and I gave it all back on my own bad pick and prop.
I hovered over Dodgers -2.5. Like it’s insane to bet a -2.5 for the home team, but atm, it feels insane not to.
The Yankees are throwing some dope against Burnes tonight and the Yankees are a small favorite in a tremendous pitching mismatch, yet I wouldn’t bet against them. Rich get richer
Logan Allen got more run support than any pitcher I’ve ever seen last year. All year long. Might be another over on that game.
Edit- Got o 7.5 for -105. Took my shot. Neither pitcher looks lights out.

Ryan Jeffers, C, Minnesota Twins
Francisco Lindor, SS, New York Mets

"It feels good," he said, via NBC5's Charlie Clifford. "It feels really good."
Literally just got this notification from Sportsbook.

The Braves are gonna redeem themselves tonight!
They usually start off like shit but tonight is the night to start the streak!
I doubt it but its worth a shot lol
Well gut I said the Twins can’t score and they won and my team got 2 runs yesterday and 2 hits today and couldn’t even score one run to win my over.
God bless Mookie Betts Mr Druff
Dude just saved a really bad day for the second time in a week

Run Line: LA Dodgers -1.5
ATL Braves @ LA Dodgers
Yet the Dodgers are only 0.5 up despite their first-ever 7-0 start.
I don’t think an 0-6 team ever made the postseason. Sorry, BUBBLES and Sheesfaced.
@BCR
You got RL +155? Wow
Few humans have faded Dustin May more than me. Nevertheless I started buying LAD Monday night RL +130.
The Braves are broken and Sale doesn’t bat though he should.
The line fell all night and again Tues early. I didn’t care about Freeman. However the line action had me losing heart. What was going on? What don’t I know? I had too much invested and stopped following. +155 is a wowy.
I have Yankees vs DBacks -135. Zac Gallen on the road - no thanks. You committed to the RL autobet?
While you’re vacillating on the RL hit Pitt w/ Skenes F5 -130 with me
The Rays have been on my do not touch list for so long. For them, against them, I’m always wrong. I’d jinx your bet. I have a bunch of small afternoon bets. Weird shit. White Sox first 5 parlayed with KC ML for +358. Then As ml. Nothing but the blue chippers. All lunch money.
I’ll 100% be on Yankees -1.5 for +160 atm for a real bet. Haven’t bet it yet. Pondering first 5 RL for +-185. Gallen couldn’t throw strikes at home and killed me last week when I backed him. I want my $ back. I am inclined to think Yankees jump all over him from the jump.
I anxiously await a Merrill HR prop against Lively. Maybe a few others too once I look at history. He’s a give up HRs machine.
Gallen’s career number versus Yankee hitters is a little crazy. I’ll still be on the Yankees because I don’t think he’s that guy anymore, but shocked at how good he’s been against them.
The Braves suck
welp and just like that @BCR, we're tied for...first?....place.
Meanwhile this race to 10. Dodgers still ahead, but the fucking Friars giving me concern. Giants also performing better than that +5500, bout as well as I would have expected.
Has to be the first time in baseball history (and probably the only time for awhile after this) that a 7-0 MLB team isn't in first place.
Also must be the first time we've seen a 5-way tie for first place at a 2-4 record.
At least as far as our teams go, we can fall back on we haven’t played a home game.
I like it because half our early games were snowed or rained out, but we are going to be on game 10 before a home game and you are just going home now. Padres was a tough draw for us with the worst of our staff due up in rotation and they’re just better. It’s amazing how the Padres spent all that money and Merrill is the one who took them from pretenders to contenders. Kid is Stan Musial.
At least we now get the Angels who we have traditionally beat the shit out of and with our better pitchers. I’d be thrilled to get home one game under .500.
That the two undefeated teams haven’t played a road game isn’t a quirk. And Japan is more of a home game than LA. I love betting the Dodgers, but let’s see how they do in Philly when it’s cloudy and 50.
funny to hear about ballparkpal on here
I’ve been using it for at least three years (since it was free)
it’s a great site (the only one I pay for), and they add more features every year
def worth the $10/month imo
