Not Lupus.
I'm not stating the diagnosis out here for my own reasons.
badguy, I can't take any sleep aid or it just makes things worse. I get more tired, but can't fall asleep, which is like the worst thing ever.
Druff it occurred to me today that you should be checked for Lyme disease. I remember you got bit by something a while back on one of your outings and you thought it was weird looking? Just a thought. Speedy Recovery vibes coming your way.
If it's non life threatening yet debilitating one can only conclude possibly it's embarrassing. It doesn't matter really what it is. If the gambling and poker was making it worse then by all means quit as you stated .
Although I joke with you about being a hypochondriac that does not mean I think your embellishing whatever the ailments are. Laughter is the best medicine . I usually laugh at your common colds.
Get some xanex. I don't care what the problem is that stuff will knock you out. Trazedone if you want a non narcotic . That stuff for me 25 milligrams and a cookie I'm out in ten minutes. Is it pain keeping you awake ? Just throw down like 3000 milligrams of Percocet. Sleep will come . You might drool or nod like a heroin addict but I have to imagine no sleep is not healthy.
I've done a little better with the sleep, except for Tuesday night which was fucking torture, but I think that was meds-related.
I do have some Xanax and Ativan, but I have only taken 1 low dose Xanax pill and no Ativan yet. That shit scares me.
You can safely take 2-3 milligrams of xanex to calm yourself down and relax especially if your having insomnia. Adivan while in pill form about the same dosage maybe 1.5 or 2 milligrams.
Nothing truly to be afraid of if you're not mixing the benzoes with alcohol
Ativan and the like are godsends for someone unable to sleep.
There is nothing to fear from them unless you take them like candy and are suddenly without.
I've taken them for years with and without alcohol. Only naive school children get themselves into
physical trouble.
I don’t know exactly what’s wrong with you, but a legitimate health issue coupled with stress is a vicious cycle. It’s when I started my twenty year benzo dependence. When you say you can’t sleep because of your condition, I don’t know if it’s because of the lump, or if right as you start to drift off, you startle awake and then can’t shut your brain down. Kind of like hearing a noise or something under normal conditions, but when under stress, it just fires off. I wouldn’t wish chronic benzo use on anyone, but you’ll never become dependent if you don’t take it around the clock for a period of time. Had I known then what I know now, I’d take it like I do a pain medication, when needed, and never three days in a row. That has always prevented me from having any dependence.
It takes an absurd amount to overdose given you don’t drink or have any other drug habits. As a stand-alone medication it’s fairly safe if used in short term and not every day. Basically just don’t drive Ben on it and you’re fine.If you feel lack of sleep wearing you down mentally and physically, don’t hesitate to take it. You need to take the equivalent of like 1mg attivan when in that state to have any true effect. I’m a control freak, so when shit starts to go sideways with your health that you can’t reason out and feels a bit out of your control, so much of improving is convincing yourself. There’s the physical part which is what it is and will run it’s course, but the stress part exacerbates it dramatically. Mentally walking yourself through this isn’t going to kill me and I’ll get through it is key. Easier said than done, and more easily done with a few hours sleep.
That last bit is ridiculous. Why does he need to self medicate. You involve a professional who monitors your reaction to any prescription. Benzo's aren't anesthetics. Unless you take more than prescribed you'll wake
just fine. And if he suffers everyday and night do you not think that would be detrimental to his son?
I only suggested the Xanex for NIGHTS he can't sleep. I assumed . Mrs Druff would be home to take care of Ben's needs if they should arise. Not like his son is a toddler. Also as stated if he is only taking the Benzoes for anxiety relief and to ease his mind into a restful sleep state my experience has been that any unusual noise WILL wake a person up.
Using Xanax just to sleep sounds like such a waste.
My lasting memory of taking that drug was the feeling of absolute calmness in mind, body and soul.
Could'a shit my pants walking down a busy street and zero fucks would've been given.
Get your cabinet filled Druff and go for some of that short-term gain. You will love it.
Look pal, I know what I am talking about, ok? Just get out of this thread and stop suggesting high octane drugs. They have the real possibility to kill you. Seen in happen many of time. Look what happened to Heath Ledger, I knew him indirectly and he is dead. Ok?
Shit like this on the Internet gets people killed.
First of all don't pal me again
You know one thing and that's fixing or puking into a toilet bowl.
The rest is bullshit.
Serious subject here and you're throwing your fantasies in like they count.
If benzo's and alcohol are natural killers I would have been dead long ago.
Druff ain't about to start slipping himself roofies with his bourbon ya know?
Xanax is probably the best drug ever created, IF TAKEN PROPERLY. I prefer mine with a 30 oz bloody mary and around 7 beers. This is god's honest truth. I have the .5's and the 1's. Usually I will cut a .5 in half but if I have a big golf tourney I will just take a 1 mg and wash it down with some Crown. Due to the possibility to become addicted to benzo's, there is a fear mongering that drug does not deserve. It isn't a scary drug. Almost impossible to OD on the thing. The problem comes when you start mixing benzo's with sleeping pills or other strong drugs. Alone, not a problem. With alcohol, not a problem. Unless you start taking 3 mg with heavy alcohol you'll be fine.
This whole thing sounds a lot like anxiety. While my father was dying, I had a fairly long period of time where I had a terrible time swallowing. Got to the point where I had issues eating any solid food at all. Still do, at times. It the silent killer that probably won't kill you and it's anxiety. A lot of people better than us have ended up in the ER with heart attack symptoms and the only problem was anxiety. Happened to me twice. I had the problem Druff is having. Again, due to anxiety. Would lay down and have to immediately get up because I couldn't breathe.
All this said, Druff knows what he has and it probably isn't anxiety. Maybe it is. I'd take a Xanax either way. I'd predict it helps more than he'd like to admit. Ativan is purely for faggots though. Take the Xanax.
Pooh is god.
I have Xanax for flying internationally and MAYBE will take one after a panic attack (have about 3-4 per year), but it's the one drug I've tried that I dont really like. It's better than not being able to sleep on 10+ hour flights though.
The handful of times I took it just for fun, I would find myself almost 'blacking out' while awake and not drinking etc., like I would just snap back to consciousness during a movie or whatever.
Tread lightly with that shit.
I agree that Xanax should only be taken when needed. ie, during times of stress or anxiety. Believe me I'm not waking up and having these things with coffee in the morning. I never take them just for shits and giggles. From reading what Druff is feeling it appears that he really does have LPR which symptoms may be causing him anxiety attacks. That's just my read. Normally a 46 year old guy wouldn't be suffering from a dibilitating condition that doesn't include a healthy amount of anxiety. Druff's eating, sleeping and exercise habits aren't those of a typical person imo. I mean two dinners a night. Who eats dinner then goes out to the mall and eats fucking hot dogs on a stick on a full stomach. That doesn't compute. Out of habit he says? Craziness.
His blood work numbers have to be something awful. Sodium must be at critical levels not to mention cholesterol. A lot of people who have had really good cholesterol their entire lives naturally have it increase to dangerous levels in mid to late 40's without the hot dogs on a stick and fried dough.
Obviously I wish the guy the best but just because he doesn't drink or smoke doesn't make it open season to just sit around and eat whatever and how much of it he pleases. I remember he used to brag that he can sleep for a couple hours, get up for a few hours then take a couple naps throughout the day and be perfectly fine. My ass. That shit catches up with you. When I was in my 20's I used to deliver pizzas and tend bar at night and go to school during the day so I had similar sleep habits as him and it sucked and took its toll eventually on my body and I was in my 20's. Going to bed at 5 and getting up at noon was not a good existence for me personally.
Just did bloodwork on Monday.
Cholesterol was 147, so Pooh's guess was way off. There was a somewhat low Vitamin D level, but actually higher than it was a year ago.
No other levels were in trouble.
My old sleep patterns are not likely the cause of this.
The overeating and weight gain were very possibly the cause of the LPR.
I took one Xanax a week ago. Felt weird for the first 45 minutes (kind of a dizzy, out-of-it, tired feeling), but then that lifted, and for the next 2 hours 45 minutes after that, I felt great. Then the effects wore off and I felt crappy again, though not as crappy as before I took the pill. I did sleep well that night, despite it being several hours after the Xanax wore off.
However, the next day, I was EXHAUSTED for the first 8 hours I was up. That feeling somewhat dissipated about 22 hours following taking the pill (6 hours into the drowsiness), and was completely gone two hours after that. But it was really unpleasant and made me not want to take Xanax again (which is probably good).
I have acquired some CBD oil. Go read about it. It's from cannabis, and has been anecdotally been claimed to help with a wide variety of health issues. I took the pure form without THC, so I got no high.
At first I felt little, other than some added tiredness (I was also very tired to start, then got a second wind, then got tired again on the CBD). Then I went to sleep about 2 hours later, and fell asleep more quickly than I had since all of this started.
Great success!
But wait... I woke up drowsy despite 9 hours of sleep (I probably needed 12-16 though), and couldn't get back to sleep. Then I took more CBD and it made me even more drowsy, yet I can't sleep.
So now I don't know what to say. I've been reading that I need to experiment with the dose, and perhaps I did too much (though I thought I didn't do all that much).
I told you to get some weed/thc ages ago.
Don't mess with the prescription drugs
exercise and eat better and you will sleep. Heavy duty shit like squats and other compound movements and i assure you that you will sleep. Leg workouts would knock anyone the fuck out if done at correct intensity
Stop drinking pepsi and other drinks that are empty calories and added caffeine
Druff, have you started exercising more, such as walking? Can’t stress enough how helpful that can be. Seriously. And you can even do it when sleepy but can’t sleep. Such as on a treadmill. Get on it, put your airbuds in, crank up an old PFA episode on your iPhone, and get your legs moving. You could even do something like this if you’re too tired to stand.
Just get yourself going at it. Because it’s something our bodies are great at doing. That and sweating were key to our long-ago ancestors being able to chase down to exhaustion large 4-legged prey animals.
if you're gonna walk walk on an incline
So you're afraid of drugs, but cbd oil is ok. This is sounding more a between the ears issue than anything.
Watch a Woody Allen film or Mel Brook's High Anxiety.
You need some weight taken off but not body weight.
And believe me do not talk to another Ear Nose and Throat specialist unless you've cut off one of your ears.
TODGE IS A MARIJUANA ADDICT
and you're a cock addict you fag
Just a great showing of homophobia by this guy
There is no known cure for Pepsi Aids
Later fatty
I find it both funny and sad how cocky Druff still is about his excellent health. The cholesterol was a guess and I'm also guessing you're on drugs to keep it low. How's the sodium levels?
100% is a between the ears issue. If it wasn't the Xanax would have had zero effect. The guy either has anxiety or is depressed or both.
But self medicating and diagnosing is def the prudent thing when one has a dibilitating illness.
The problem with benzos are that they are useless for chronic anxiety unless you want to become addicted. Even if at low doses, it doesn't take long to get addicted. He felt like shit hours after he took the meds and foggy the next day because he was going through mild withdrawals. In terms of brain chemistry, it is a bottle of wine in a pill. I am not saying benzos dont have their place. They do. But idiot doctors will sometimes tell patients this is a long term solution . It is not.
Benzos (in the very short term. i mean two weeks max and every other day) combined with behavior therapy is a good way to go. Also, talking an hour long walk on the beach will do wonders.
Druff will never do it but there are definitely edibles that would help as well. It is just about finding the right concentration and strain so you completely avoid the paranoia that will simply make things worse.
And btw, if you are taking normal doses of xanax and not mixing it with stuff, you have more of a chance of dying from choking on the pill than from the pill itself. The only time people die from taking benzos is if they take a ridiculous amount of them or mix them with other drugs (almost always an opiate) .
I don’t think so. The new thinking is that dietary cholesterol intake is not anywhere as strongly correlated with blood syrum cholesteral as nutritionists had been harping about since the ‘60s (or possibly earlier), and which was applified by the FDA (with behind the scenes encouragement by the other-than-cholesterol-heavy food industry participants).
#TheFoodPyramidIsFraudulent
If you're not worried about being unproductive and just focusing on being comfortable/not in pain why not just put a little THC in your system and see if helps?
I promise you won't turn into Micon.
So true about benzos and pretty much everything above. Taking them once in a blue moon for something like flying is fine but daily ongoing use will compound issue.
CBD oil works wonders for some health problems. But pisses me off when people talk about it working for anxiety because there is very little empirical evidence there.
I have been to several doctors. Idiots on the forum are just assuming I am self diagnosing/medicating. You also need to take charge of your own health situation and not just blindly do what doctors tell you, because they basically see you for 15 minutes, take a guess, and walk out.
It is mostly agreed what I have, but treating it is the hard part.
I have not taken any cholesterol meds in my life. Cholesterol levels are mostly hereditary. Many people refuse to admit that because they like feeling in control of their health. Sodium levels have never been a problem for me, though blood pressure is moderately high (also mostly hereditary, btw).
I am not being cocky about anything. I wish I didn't eat so much this year, which possibly caused the chain reaction of issues I'm having now.
